Seat height spacer

Anyone know where to buy a kit to raise the drivers seat by about an inch? I know all about the handle to adjust the height but I need to raise the entire frame of the seat up a bit to allow for more clearance under the seat. I've seen them for the TJ but not for JK. I just want to buy the kit bolts and all.

Thanks, but looking for a cleaner look than that.

I've thought of that but don't know the answer. That's why I asked my friends here :)

I have been looking for spacers to raise the front passenger seat 2" or so. Seems like there would be a market for a kit to do that.

Right? I just want to buy the kit and do it easily, I'm not looking to "rig" it if I can avoid it.

I bought those and returned them because they had the wrong bolts and came with a disclaimer saying for off road use only, even though the website talks about using on the road. They offered to replace with the correct bolts.

My plan was to only lift the front of the seats to get more tilt for my long legs.

I gave up on it but if I decide to continue with the lift I would find strong bolts 1" longer than stock and buy a piece of 1" thick black Starboard and cut to match the shape of the seat mount bases. Starboard or Seaboard or whatever brand, is a hard plastic marine product for boats that's easy to cut with a jigsaw, search Amazon. That would provide a much cleaner less noticeable look than the square shape risers linked above, that's another reason I returned them.

Bolt strength is critical because you don't want them to break from shear forces or threads stripping if you get in an accident.

Thanks, I'll take a look at them. Any idea what size the bolt is?

Still no definitive answer on this one?

I've been searching since I bought my 4Runner in 2004. The ones I replied with earlier are the only ones I've ever found for sale. I saw an old internet site by somebody years ago that was selling body lift pucks with longer bolts to raise 4Runner seats, but it was old and non responsive when I found it. Somebody replied to you suggesting hockey pucks, that might work if you can find bolts. PM me if you ever find anything.

I modded a set of TJ 1.5" aluminum riser blocks by drilling out the correct holes for the bolts size and buying the grade 10 bolts online. Make sure you check the shoulder height on the bolts. If the shoulder is too long you can't get the torque. I just lifted the passenger seat on my 17 JK (odd that it seemed low) but it's all good now.

The is not difficult. Run down to your nearest metal supply store and by bar stock aluminum in the height and width you need. This will allow you to to shape each foot to provide the proper support for each leg, they are all different. It is aluminum so it is easy to work with. If you have a vice, drill and jigsaw it should not take to long. Use WD40 as a lubricant when cutting or drilling, it makes the job easier.

If you have a Fastenal or Tacoma screw shop handy run down to it with your bolts and they can size them for the right length based on the thickness of you riser.

I used 1/16" large washers, to raise mine 1". The factory bolt length is fine if you only raise it 1". Works like a charm and nobody can see the washers because of the way the seat is mounted to the floor. I used Loctite to keep the bolts from backing out.
