Since i got my Jeep...and actually even before i got my Jeep i've been combing the internet for some second hand deals....
These days with Forums, Craig's List, and E-Bay there is so much out there to take advantage of...
So lets hear about your good fortune, and your big SCORES on second hand stuff..
Ok , I'll go first
when i was looking to order my Sahara i liked the 7 spoke wheels, they are a $700 option.. i found a forum memeber that was looking to sell his 7 spokes w/tires for $675, only had 3,000 miles on them, .... so is agreed to the deal. Didn't order them on my Jeep...boutght the set from him..and when my Jeep came in i sold my wheels/tires for $800...so instead of spending $700 ..I MADE $125
i also was on the fence about a soft top when i ordered my Jeep...so i went with just the Hardtop (hardtop was a must)... so as i was waiting for my Jeep to come in I found a guy on CL, that just bought a 2013 Sahara off the lot with the DUAL TOP GROUP..he had no interest in the soft top but that's how it was on the lot... I got the brand new, still in boxes PREMIUM soft top from him for $600..if i got Dual tops on mine it would've cost me an additional $1,200.. so essentially i paid HALF PRICE...SCORE!
I know you guys are finding deals too...go ahead BRAG ! and let the others know..if you are a little resourceful, you can get some SWEET deals..
I picked up a poison spider rock brawler rear bumper for $500 plus my stock bumper. And picked up a never used soft top for $300.
My best deal was on my tj. I picked up a bestop hardtop for $650. I did not like the tatga top, sold it on craigslist less than 2 weeks later for $1200 then picked up an unused factory hardtop for $400. I was stoked making that much extra cash in a few weeks by wheeling and dealing
Picked up a set of bfg km's 35x12.50x15's for $500 with 80% tread left. The tires are a bit stuffed an have a few chunks missing since the guy I got them from used them strictly for rock crawling on his old samurai. A lot better then paying 1,000-1500 for a new set
2013 Rubicon wheels 250$ and factory side steps 100$, both on Craig's list.
Got my 430rbz shipped for $260 from ebay.
Got new Mopar chrome tail lamp guards and a new Mopar chrome fuel filler door for about $140 shipped (combined) on ebay.
Could have gotten a new in box, OEM Premium 4 door soft-top for $557....but threw in $100 because I felt like I was ripping him off when I traded my new in box Trektop NX for his new soft top. On another forum, I had mentioned that I had a Trektop NX still in the box that I didn't want. He PM'd me and asked for a trade. I got the Trektop on supersale for $557 shipped....so I basically paid $657 for an OEM premium top.
I scored an 89 YJ with 63,000 original miles for $500. It had been sitting for 5 years and had a quarter inch of moss, pine needles, tree sap, and bird crap on it. I had to put another $1300 in it for reliability, and looks. No rust other than a small place in the driver's pan. I fixed it. But I still think I got a great deal on it. 6cyl, 5spd. I already put 9000 miles on it.
And I got 5 jeep canyon wheels with decent 31's on them for free, from a co-worker.
Since, I just bought a 13 JKR, my daughter will drive the YJ this summer when she gets her permit. She is already painting and detailing it.
2013 JK Rubicon. True blue. Loaded. Stock for now.
1989 Wrangler, 4.2/5s. $500! Weber carb. HEI. 31's.
1969 Camaro Z28, 350, 4 spd.
1957 Chevy 2dr Bel Air Sedan. w/'65 vette 327,2 fours
1970 Corvette, 350/400, all original, loaded.
1956 Chevy 2dr, Bel air Sedan, 396/4spd 3.70 posi.
I picked up my soft top for $450 off CL (complete - sans roll bar brackets, unused from 2008 2 dr Rubicon). The guy bought the Rubi off the lot with the dual top option, removed the soft top and never installed it.
I'm looking for Rubi Rails now, but as mentioned earlier, 2 dr stuff is hard to find. I'd love to find a lift on the cheap, but I'm not seriously looking for about a year. The tires were brand new when I bought my Jeep and I figure I'll get some use out of them before I swap them out. Being on a budget forces that a bit.

I picked up a set of body armor tube doors front and rear with mirrors for $375 shipping and all. The guy even threw in a set of wall hangers to hang my factory doors on. Picked them up on another forum.
