Seen this on the news........Jk in a river

Hey all............kinda new here, I'm still in the waiting room for my first jeep ever..........seen this on the news tonight, looks like an unlimited in a river. I think these jeeps can take 33" of water, ..........yes? Hopefully he'll be ok. Looks like it is Louisville KY.

Go slow. Water seems to be under the fenders.

Let's hope that he was actually moving, rather than just looking like it because the current was moving by his flooded JK.

At first glance looked kind of like a hippo. Isn't that a little too much water? USS Jeep lol!

I almost said Carburetor, but then, those things are in the past now, and also shows my age too. Only have those on my old cars.

Um yea, that's not a river, at least not supposed to be, that is from here in Louisville, Ky. We got about 7 inches of rain this weekend, a little ofer 5 of that on Saturday and it caused a lot of havoc with flooding around here. People were getting caught in the flooding not only from driving thru but also just in the parking lots.

Hopefully it's not a manual... And if it is, hopefully he doesn't try shifting in water that deep. Or is this problem of water/gunk getting in the clutch only with TJs ?

Pretty sure he's not moving, if you look at the street sign at 11:00. Same "wake" being created there too.

I bet he's just camping.

Here's a closer view of the flooded JKU. Pause the video at the 0.47 second mark:

Actually, the breather tubes are the first concern, they are not as high as the air intake. They are located in the fender Wells and if water enters there it's time to change the differential fluid. If not, that can be messy

Just wanted to share for those who are not familiar with the breather tubes

I saw this as well! I personally think he could keep going especially in a emergency situation such as this. Water is below the fenders. Its an unlimited so it was probably a soccer mom who got freaked out when water started entering the cabin lol

Water in electrical - TIPM - that vehicle will have all sorts of gremlins in the years (or months) to come. Crap in the door panels, seats, not a good thing to do.
