Sell off Stock Parts

I'm building out a 16 JKU. Just a question for all - Has anyone figured out a creative way of ridding your garage of the stock parts, bumpers, seats, interior rugs, etc.? Normal sale chains in this area haven't yielded much success. Seems such a waste to take them to the canyon.

When I got the rubi in 15 here's what I got for parts. Headlights 20, rock rails 175, springs 25, shocks 175, tow hook 10, soft top 600, tires/wheels 1000 (dealer bought them), hood I still have, 430 radio 50, bumpers 100 for both. Everything else I had to give away. Oh driveshafts 200

Check Craigslist and post them there with a lower price then anybody else has. The easiest wheels and suspension parts to sell are from Hard Rocks/Rubicon's. You won't easily sell sport or Sahara springs/shocks, maybe somebody will buy the Sahara tires if theirs are wearing out.

What I see is either guys trying to finance their upgrades purchase or they are trashed parts. Yet if I am willing to drive a few hours they are reasonable priced in the big cities. Just because the stock bumper new is like $600+ doesn't mean it's worth it used, $50-100 and they move on CL.

If they're brand new take-offs, see if there's a body shop local to you who'd want the bumpers and tire carrier. They buy from you for $100/piece and sell to the customer / customer's insurance at full retail.

As for springs, unless you've got high rate springs (19/60's), don't expect them to sell. The shocks, unless they're Rubicon red shocks, won't sell for very much / very fast. Build up some karma by giving them away.

Seats for some reason seem to do well on Craigslist in my area, at $350/ea, or $400ish for leather. As for rugs - you mean the stock carpet (going Line-X), or the weather mats? A full interior carpet is going to be tough to unload - maybe to a body shop, and the mats that go on top of the carpet you can get maybe $75-100 for a full set on CL.

Good luck!
