Have searched this site, GIS, and craigslist, and don't see any market for the take offs after a suspension lift. Am thinking that the parts I took off are pretty much worthless.
The new RK parts are solid and awesome, the stock parts are okay and good.
Has anyone sold the stock parts? And why would anyone want them?
Stock shocks and spring from Rubicon go for ~$100-150 for the whole set on my local CL. People buying those because this is the cheapest way to add 1-1.5" lift to the stock Sport.
Shocks and softer springs from Sport/Sahara worth nothing, I ended up giving them away for free.
Control arms, track bars, steering stabilizer and drag link have some value, but not too much, I'd say around $50 for the whole set of control arms, but there is no much demand for them.
Maybe a dumb question:
Is it possible or sensible to save the bushings from the stock arms as replacements for the lift arm bushings if/when they wear out?
I don't think so. Aftermarket CAs will have a different type/size bushing, usually better than stock. Also, if a stock bushing is worn out, then it means a new CA, I don't think the stock bushings are removable or replaceable.
Try posting the stuff on Craigslist. Maybe you’ll get $100 or so. If you don’t want the hassle, call a local metal recycler. I did that and a guy came by with a truck and took the whole lot, plus some other junk off my hands and freed up some garage space. Cost me nothing but 10 minutes of my day. I was happy with that deal.
Or leave it out on recycling day.... They town might not take it, but where I live plenty of people go 'can collecting' through recycling bins and alot of scrappers will take anything metal if they can scrap it....
I leave all sorts of parts out with my recycling thinking if they are still there when I get home no big deal.... never once yet have I been disappointed
