Jeepers,

I'm wondering if anyone has some tips on selling used stock JKU parts, after installing a lift kit? To whom did you sell your parts? How much were your parts valued at? Did you do a trade? Etc...

These parts have 25,000 km/ 15,500miles on them:

Front + Rear Coil Springs
Front + Rear Shocks
Front + Rear Sway Bar Links
Front + Rear Lower Control Arms
Front + Rear Brake Lines
Front Track Bar

And maybe a couple of other components...that I can't recall at this time.

Thanks a bunch!

Set a very reasonable price.....what are they worth sitting in the corner of your garage taking up space? (Hint: Nothing)

Here is the proper sales sequence that I suggest....

1) Start with Local Craigs list

2) Then try Ebay with no reserve and a low starting bid

3) Then try giving them away on the forum.

Thanks guys, unfortunately that doesn't really help me. It's pretty obvious to list the parts on eBay, kijiji etc...nevertheless, I was wondering what a reasonable price would be....yes, it could be whatever I'm willing to take or what someone is willing to pay..,,it's all relative. However, has anyone actually ever sold or have personally seen similar stock JKU used parts for sale?

Apparently, Stock JKU parts can lift a 2door TJ 3", with some minor modifications. Slight mods needed to the rear spring to get it to fit over the bump stop but other than that the springs fit. Shocks will fit aswell provided you change out the bar pins/bushings from the tj shocks and out them in the jk shocks.

From what I read, you have to take the bushing out of the TJ shocks on the bottom of the front, and put them in the jk shock. Same with the rear shocks, swap bushings and bar pins.

So potentially TJ owners might be interested in purchasing JK parts.......

Thanks for your help!

This is what the "completed auctions" search on eBay is for.

Look at the ads in your area for pricing. Pricing is probably better in Canada than the US. In the US the whole package might be worth $300-350 if you're lucky.

Consider just giving away the links and brake lines to a fellow Jeeper in need. The Sahara shocks have limited value unless someone is looking for softer shocks and the coils will highly depend on the part numbers.

When people say list the "numbers" on your springs...look at the tags on the springs. The front ones should end in anything from 14-19 (just the last two digits of the number) and the rears should end in anything from 53(?)-59. The higher the number the more likely you'll sell them. If you have a set of 14 fronts and 54 rears...you're better off just scrapping them probably. They'll provide nothing to anyone except a replacement spring if they somehow trashed theirs already.

Hope that helps

I'd say 17/18 front and 57-58 rears could be worth $50 and maybe you can sell your shocks to someone that just needs new ones. Everything else is worthless. Ask $20 for each part on CL and hope for the best. Not worth shipping from ebay.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen. I expect to get the odd asinine response on wranglerforum. Nevertheless, thanks to those who gave me a legitimate answer. I'll take a look at the tags on the coil springs this evening. Lastly, I'll cross my fingers for $200, which I'll use for an evap cover from river raider.
