I was driving home today and herd a weird noise from the engine bay. Stopped , put in neutral, and revved engine and heard it again. Couldn't hear it at idle at all. Drove home , about a mile, turned it off, and popped the hood. After looking close I seen the serpentine belt and it's split down the middle with long pieces of belt hanging off. I have 2200 miles on my 12'. Should it be covered in warranty and has anyone else heard of this?
under warranty,, i doubt it, after all it is a consumable item,,, those are not covered,,, but with 2200 mile on the clock the dealer should change it out as a show of good faith. give it a shot, you never know.
life is too short to be taken seriously all the time,,,, go buy a MR.potato head and have some fun.
Definitely have the dealer look at it. With only 2200 miles, it's either a defective belt or something else caused it. My wife's Liberty shredded a belt which ended up being caused by a bad water pump, which is covered under the lifetime powertrain warranty.

Dirt or no dirt it's up to them to replace it. It's not like you had the hood open throwing it in with a shovel. If there was to much in there ask why there's a design flaw lol Glad you got it fixed. Even the belts manufacturer should have warranted it.
