service contract dealer cost

Hi,

I am curious if anyone knows the actual invoice/dealer cost on the Chrysler Service Contract/extended warranty for Lifetime Maxcare on a 2012 JKU Rubi with a $0 deductible?

I have searched and seen threads and read dealer cost is $1700 for $100 deductible, but I can't find anything showing the other possibilities of $50 and $0.

Thanks.

Why don't you just go to the dealer and buy one?

Uh, because most dealers have no qualms about doubling or tripling the price of the service contract over their cost.

Get a quote from one of the online sellers, and ask your dealer to match it. If they won't, screw em and buy it online.

I did buy it at the dealer. however, they're trying to screw me by saying i got a $100 deductible instead of $0 which we not only agreed to for $0 deductible, but says quite clearly on my copy of the service contract we all signed there. they are saying their copies say $100 which is total b.s. unless they altered it, whcih clearly they have done.

what i am doing is gathering ammo and information to prepare for what is likely to be an annoying battle. he was quoting me their dealer cost and i'm trying to verify if he's actually telling me the truth now, hence this post without saying what he posted so I can independently validate it if possible.

it's only marginally relevant since what he sold it for and they signed as is what it is, just like when i overpaid on various things like documentation fees and signed it, it is done. but i would like to know if i can. I've seen Pat showed the dealer cost on a $100 deductible in teh past, so if I can verify these then I can at least try to start seeing if he's telling the truth and it's just his crooked F&I salesperson cooking the books here...

*disclaimer- I am a GM dealer, Jeeps costs may vary.

The "up charge" for the zero deductible is only $200 on our warranties and service contracts. Stick with what you have in writing, good luck.

Bought my jeep from a giant dealer that also sells gm. I elected to add GM service contract for extended warranty, as it is far superior to chryslers. However I did add lifetime powertrain from chrysler. Love the choices from larger multi brand dealers.

You can always call chrysler and ask about cancelling the warranty. If you paid for it seperately, you will get the refund. If it is in your financing, the bank will get it. Then you can do the warranty at a dealer of your choosing. A $100 lifetime max care is the cheapest way to go. $50 ded is over almost a thousand more than $100 ded (cost). $0 ded is close to double $100 ded (cost) And if a dealer altered thier copy after you recieved yours, sounds like you have a case for your states DMV dealers and repairers division. No dealership wants them snooping around....

indeed. thanks for all the replies! it appears they have realized someone there (probably the F&I snake who sold it) realized they made a pricing error on my quote, and tried to create fake contract after the fact for $100 ded.

the president of the dealership contacted me and acknowledged there was a problem and went ahead and ate the extra cost and put me in the system for what i paid for the $0 ded for lifetime maxcare, so all is well and resolved once more!
