I bought a 2009 Jeep wrangler new. Not long after i got it it developed a shimmy/shake at about 60mph or if i hit a good bump in the road. Being in such a small vehicle it scared the hell out of me. slowing down made it drive correctly again but as good measure I put it up on a rack and checked out the entire front end for anything that had come loose or broke etc. Finding nothing I then took it in and had the tired rebalanced. That cured the problem for a while but it still developes the shake if i hit a bump . Has anyone else had this problem or is it just a thing of jeep being on such a short wheel base and stiff frame?
It could be your alignment, it could be brake discs warped, it could be a broken belt in a tire, it could be bad bearings etc......it could be many things. Your best bet is to have it looked at if your own expertise cannot find the problem.
