Shock adapters or new shocks

I have a lift question, is it better to go with new shocks or can you go with shock adapters and have the same ride quality?

New shocks.

Shock adapters simply elongate your existing shocks, kinda like spacers for a lift. They don't improve your ride on- or off-road the way a new set of shocks can...if you buy good ones.

What kind of lift? Spacer or coil spring?

Agree with the Wolfman! Replaced my stock shocks with Bilstein 5100's and the difference is night & day

agreed, after a lift it will take no time before the factory shocks are wore out. not that they are the best ride anyways. Got new Fox 2.0 gas shocks and love them. Great improvement over stock

Wouldn't it also matter what JK model is being lifted? I would imagine there is a lot of difference between the OEM shocks on a Sport model compared to a Rubi.

I am looking at the Teraflex 2.5" spring lift with either shock adapters or new shocks for 2012 JKUR.

I have the same set-up, and went with the New Shocks (Teraflex Shocks). I am very happy with my decision.

If you have Rubi shocks go with extensions, If you have sport/sahara replace them
