Oh yeah it's terrible.
In fact nobody here actually OWNS a Jeep.
We just talk about 'em while we're secretly shilling for Audi.

Death wobble is not a constant thing, and not all jeeps or other vehicles with the same type of suspension get it. things such as out of balance tires, lose trac-bars cause it. Thus the jeep can go well over 45mph.

Option out for hover mode with the super secret hyper jets. Won't have to worry about on road death wobble then

Make sure you get a red one and use it to take the kids to soccer practice.

Is it fixable

Is it less likely to happen to an on road driver rather than a driver who uses it mainly off roads

I am asking this because this will be my first car and will be my primary one

Death wobble is not very common, but does happen and is fixable. on road or off doesn't matter. It's a JEEP not a Car, so please don't call it a car

OK, so maybe your're not so bad after all. Start by reading this http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/dia...les-78034.html.

DW is very rare and can be fixed. Get a Wrangler and be one of the coolest 20 yr. olds around.

Hearing things is one thing, stating actual facts in another. "i heard....insert not true statement here w/o supporting evidence"
i've had my JKU almost hit 95 and no wobble...

you should hear what the coolest car is w/o death wobble, then hear were to get it, then listen to yourself buy it

I thought it was unfixable and you can not exceed 45m or else your vehicle will get possessed
glad it's not the case

Just to add to the question can the company fix this problem completely to prevent it happening at all
Or is it a un preventable downside to owning a 4x4

Owned a TJ and have an 89 YJ and 10 JK. No death wobble, ever. If it developes it can be fixed just like you would have to fix anything on another vehicle. Sometimes things sound like they're a common problem in a forum setting because it's geared towards complaints and how to resolve them. Get the Jeep.

It's a preventable downside to a vehicle with a solid front axle. Google solid front axle and then IFS and you can learn what the differences are and why the solid front axle is a better system for serious off roading.

None taken, I apologize as well. You sounded like a 20 year old, now that we know you are, it's fine. You took it like a man so that says tons about you. I'm willing to help all you want.

Most of the YouTube videos or forums or yahoo answer I have checked always have a Brit or Aussie try to diss the wrangler by using the death wobble argument to promote Holdens or Toyotas

While I may be an Australian, I am a fan of the "yank" owned Chrysler company and a jeep wrangler was my way to go when asked what car I would like for my 21 birthday

Used but like new

Was planning on buying a used flame red my10 from a local dealer for 29,000 aus dollars
But was sold the other day

Might settle for a silver one from a private seller
As I want either one of these colors

Make sure you have a mechanic check it out for you. If you find one you like, feel free to gives us all the details and we can give our opinions about it as well. (Red ones are fine, mine is Redrock)

Here's the good part

My dad drives trucks from Canada to USA and was a taxi operator and cars are his religionn

And my uncle is a retired mechanic and still works on cars for a hobby he is who is coming with me when I go and check out the wrangler

And my grandfather is a enthusiast of muscle cars lol but is a bit senile
