I recently purchased a 2014 JKU and I traded my F150. When I was on the f150 forum they had a cool thread called show me hidden features..... One that I remember which was useful was a hidden USB behind the dash.
So I thought maybe there is something interesting I never knew was in the JK, so tell me what I can find.
Not really hidden (it's in the owners manual) but if you look at your 12 volt outlets you'll see a picture of a battery or a key. If it has a battery, then that outlet is always hot. If it has a key, then the key must be in at least the accessory position for the outlet to have juice.
The sun visors slide/extend inward/outward. You'll see a narrow on the joint of the visor showing this. After owning the Jeep for a year, I found this out a couple months ago.
Not 'hidden' but, under the carpets you have drain plugs. If you get water inside you can pull them to drain it, or s many do, leave them out and it will drain itself.
If you want to keep the tailgate locked at all times you can pull the plastic vent off on the inside of the tailgate and unplug the lock/unlock harness.
You can turn a lot of features on and off with the EVIC.
If you look inside the deep storage bin under your center arm rest, you will find a 12v outlet in there. There are small notches in the top of that bin so that you can plug in a charger and run the cord out of the bin without pinching the cord when you put the arm rest down.
Something mentioned in another post that I thought was intuitive, was the fact that you cannot grind your starter/flywheel if you accidentally turn the key while the engine is running. Another thing worth mentioning is when in 4-Lo (this only applies if you have a standard tranny), it is not necessary to depress the clutch to start the vehicle. In fact, while turning the key, you can creep along slowly if necessary. This is how I got my Liberty up on jackstands when changing the oil. I didn't have to mess with the clutch and risk accidentally overdriving them or letting the clutch out too soon and rolling back down.
Never put change in that part. I made the mistake of putting a bunch of change in the small part of the armrest. I tried pulling it up and now its lost forever.
I found buttons on the back of my steering wheel that seem like they mirror the front. It's probably in the manual... I just had no idea they were there!
im a fan of this thread the only thing i have found is that when you decide to take the vent casings off to paint, there is a tiny hidden hole that needs to have something in it to unlock and get vent out/off...took me hours to figure it out lol

A lot of these "features" are standard on any Chrysler product built in the last 7 or 8 years. My wife's 2005 Pacifica has the blinkers, Kleenix, pens, computer codes, DC outlets & stereo buttons. No grills all over though.
