Show me your bumpers!

My husband wants to put a bull bar on my 2008 JK X. After reading some of your comments on how much some of you hate them, I'm thinking I don't want one.

The main reason for this upgrade is because I have already hit 2 deer (with a 2 different vehicles), and my stock lights are shit. I would like to protect the front of my new jeep a little. I also work in EMS and would like to add some PIAA's to the front bumper so that I can see where I am going at night. Another option I would like to add down the road is a winch.

I would like to see pictures of your bumpers. Also, how much did it cost?

Rugged Ridge XHD Bumper ($650 + shipping) with RR 8500 winch ($300 + shipping) dont forget the weight of the bumper and winch will cause your front end to sag so you will need to add a leveling or lift kit. I plan ordering the Rough Country 2 1/2" this week. Good luck and dont forget pics.....
and yes I am very happy and satisfed with the winch and the bumper

Howdy!
I am a paramedic who works in the middle of nowhere and after seeing a deer go through someone's windshield one morning I went out and got a nice bumper for a GOOD price. Here is my Westin Trailblazer, available here:
Westin TrailBlazer Series for Jeep Wrangler - Front Bumper - Westin 42-2015 - Truck Customizers

The whole setup with bumper and shipping, 2 hella lights, 2 fog lights and wiring is: $350!
I highly recommend, and you can supposedly run a winch with this, though I'm unsure where you mount it, I would guess you would have to buy a plate that goes between the frame pieces.
Good luck!

The bumper I really love is the AEV Bumper but it is over $1200, too much for me. So I think I'm leaning towards the Rugged Ridge XHD. I really like the look of it and how it doesn't stick too far out. I also like how I can start out with one or two pieces and add the ends on later as I get more money.

I'm really torn between the light only version or the winch version. I want to put the lights under the bar to protect them a little more and give it a cleaner look, problem is that is where the winch is. So now I have to decide what is more important, winch or lights. I don't plan on doing any serious off roading, but having the winch would be nice.

RR XHD with winch. What I like about the XHD is that you can change the looks so easily by just adding a different option like end caps, pre-runner or stinger later if you like. Or you can Just run stubby

We are in the process of modifying the Mopar full length offroad winch bumper. Cut it down to about mid size and removed the crush cans, and are waiting on D ring mounts to be installed in place of the crush cans.... It looks great! I'll get a pic if I can find one... Can't wait till it's done

I'll show you my bumper if you show me your headlights!! Hah! I agree, the stock lights are garbage, there are too many choices for replacements, even more for bumpers......which to choose???

I love it! You have the winch and the lights?? How did you manage to mount the lights? This is exactly what I want. Just by looking at RR's website, I thought I had to choose the winch or the lights.

The fairlead that comes with the XRC8 winch has light mounts on them. The mount is on the winch fairlead not the bumper. Not sure about other brand fairlead but that is where I mounted the lights

Took a MOPAR off-road bumper with winch plate and factory fog light cutouts and trimmed the ends off to make it more of a mid-length. I have a Warn 9.5XP winch I'll be putting in it soon.

I love the XHD with winch...
on the tubular bars, mine is bashed in on both sides infront of the tires, it's held on by 2 bolts on my 98 TJ, and as flemsy on the bumper mounts itself. Ever time i stand on them i fem them flex front to back while i'm under the hood standing on them... if you want to go with them find a way to stabelize them like i will at some time...
