A few people here have them, but I don't think new Dragon owners are the type to spend a lot of time on forums for enthusiasts. I do think that in a year or so, we will see more Dragon owners....mostly because you will see big discounts on them (similar to the COD's at the end of 2012). If Jeep is knocking an extra $5000 dollars off the MSRP and dealers are trying to geth them off their lot...you might see people saying...."F it, I'll take one at that price....I'll peel of the dragon decals, get new wheels, and rock the heck out of it."

They have one at the dealership where i bought my jk, its a 4 door with the dragon crap all over it..... my 12 y/o son loved it......... I had to explain to him "son you see that 2 door wrangler with crank windows that you have to push a button in to lock it? good, thats a jeep, thats what I am buying" I guess I understand all of the special models ect. hell I have now owned two rubis, its a money grab, and if people want em good for jeep...
I will only ever buy a 2 door with manual everything, (except auto trans) I used to drive truck hate shifting now...

Gotta say though that dragon one is a different kind of stupid .... 4500 for stickers and bad seats ,,,, mmmmmmmmmmm

i agree, I'mn almost certain people will start buying them up when the prices are knocked down abit. i mean technically its a Sahara with gold trim and decals.

FYI i actually don't mind the dragon decals the gold however looks like crap.

You may want to factor in some extra money for the interior as well. The seat side bolsters have gold dragon scales on them. The dragon from the spare tire cover is etched into the seat where the word SAHARA would normally be. The steering wheel bezel is gold as are the door pull inserts. The grab handle insert is gold with a dragon on it as well. Finally a dragon winds its way around and through the gauges.

Seriously, do a Google search for Wrangler Dragon. Many of the pictures are from the concept vehicle, but enough of the concept made it to form....

a few interior bits can easily be pulled out and changed. the seats and the gauge cluster however, would have to be something someone will have to just deal with, unless of course the owner of this just hates the whole dragon thing so much.

Yes. The way I figure it:

New Katzkins: $2000
Misc interior bits: $200 (or just respray)
Nice, used black grille: $100-200
Standard Sahara Wheels (takeoffs): $800

Still, no factory LSD, if that is an issue. (It was for me)

My dealer has two Dragons, and they seem to have been sitting on their lot forever.

And yep, my 15 year old loved them too.

Meh, we don't need another Dragon thread, especially one created to troll Dragon owners. If I had one, I would not subject it to a bunch of random people on the interwebz posting puking emoticons and junk like that.

To me, the "gold" is worse than the dragon stuff. I am not sure what Jeep was thinking, but the "gold" looks more like cheap tarnished brass.

If it had skull and cross bones draped all over the JK and it was called the Pirate edition or had orange accents and it was called HD edition there would not be so many complaints about it.

I do wonder if a big part of the dislike is related to China?. The Jeep Wrangelr is the quintessential American icon....using such a vehicle the celebrate the Chinese New Year in this particular economical and polictical enviorment seemed a bit tone deaf.....but that could be Fiat not really understanding the social and geo-political undertones.

The exact same vehicle offered in black, white, and rugged brown with a Golden Eagle design (intead of a dragon) would have gotten a completely different reaction.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the Dragon wrangler completely fits into that. While the giant logos are overdone, the gold detailing and seats are just plain beautiful.

If you all of you can. Picture one without the gold trim wheels, and other gold tidbits. now add black or possibly a chrome look to it, maybe some bigger tires and of course like the prototype pics had some JW speaker headlights.

I'm just shocked no one has come onto here or any Dragon thread and showed their pics of it yet. i mean someone has to have bought one by now.

It's not for us, but different strokes. I wouldn't hate on anyone who buys one.

I would like to think that Jeep did their market research before investing in this limited edition. They can't be cheap to introduce into the standard production run, and if they don't sell, we may all take a bit of a hit on our future Jeep purchases.

I also hope they didn't force Jeep dealers to put them on their lots in order to receive their usual allotments of vehicles. It would be a nasty way to treat your distribution channel, although I'm sure it's happened many times over the history of the industry.
