So I recently got a kabar usmc knife, 7" and am wanting to put it in my jeep and have quick access to it. So my question is how many of tall carry knifes and could you send pics of location...thanks!

Looks great on the tailgate! For me, I want to mount it some where in reach of the driver so there's a tool close at hand in case of a roll over or accident. I'd like to have it concealed from casual view to deter theft for when I'm running soft top or topless and the mount would have to be pretty sturdy.

I'll keep watching this thread to see what members come up with and post whatever I come up with over the weekend.

By the way, I'll be using a Gerber LMF II infantry style knife:

I just throw it along side the driver's seat. It's out of the way and easy to access, take out when the Jeep goes for service. I also have a military knife that I keep in a grab bag with extra clothes and stuff!

Mine has an orange handle, easy to find. Teklok set up for horizontal on belt, vertical on pack:

That's a big knife to have attached to the Jeep. What will it be used for? I almost always have a decent pocket knife on me but I'd rather not leave anything in the Jeep to attract attention or risk being stolen.
In case of roll over, it can be hard near impossible to unbuckle your seatbelt when all your body weight is on the seatbelt. Also for self defense.

Word of caution, check your state laws for concealing weapons in the vehicle too.

Here you go, OP. Back to the topic at hand lol.
That's my black Gerber LMF II. This position does not work well with a soft top.

My other location was on the other slanted pillar similar to the fire extinguisher, just on the other side. That was a way better location but only accessible from the back hatch. Regardless, I like having it on the inside of a roll bar. You can barely see it from outside and doesnt show like the 'strapped to the bottom of the seat' method next to the recline lever every time you open your door.

Still messing around with different locations though. And I use it for camping and bushwacking, not personal protection. Thought I'd clear that up

From My view point that was real life, I was on the jersey city water front and watched the whole thing, soooo again, yeah.
But of course there are better options, handguns, machine guns, howitzers, lazer death rays but if you're all out of lazer death rays and happen to only have a knife on person, it'll do in the right hands.
