Side Steps

I just bought a 2012 2-Door Wrangler Sport and I'm interested in putting side steps on it. I was curious, are they easy to put on? I'm assuming I'm going to save a lot of money doing it myself but I dont know what's involved. Also, is there a better place to go and get these side steps? I'm just looking for the basic model. Thanks for your help guys!

Try and find a set of take offs from a Sahara. Getting new will cost lots of $$$$. To bad you don't have a 4 door I just took mine off and need to get rid of 'em.

Good luck!

Welcome!

if you do some poking around on the forum you will find TONS of information about steps, rail, steprails and railsteps!

Okay, I was kidding about the railsteps, but not about the rest!

If you have the $$$ the AMP Research retractable steps are great. Waiting for mine to come in. The run about $1200. You can get take offs for about $130 and there are tons of aftermarket ones out there with prices between $150 and $500

I'm glad I got these with my car. It would just be one more thing on my wish list with lots of zeros on it.

I wanted some of these for my 11 two door, but when I checked they only came for the 4 door jk. Maybe they make them now!

A friend gave me his factory steprails and they were a breeze to install. My friend did not give me all the bolts and nuts so I had to visit hardware store but I'm not complaining. Your underneath will already have holes to fit the rails.
The benefit of the factory step rails are they block a lot of puddles from splashing on doors and best of all, they prevent door dings.

AMP research does have them for the 2 door now.$1200 the same as the four door. What a rip. Bestop also make some for $900 bucks but only shows the 4 door application! My factory pipes may have to do. But they are useless as they are so high as if you step on um you are to tall to get in. But they look nice and act as a nerf bar so to speak.
