I put Mopar tubular side steps for my '14 2-door a few weeks ago. I like them. Quadratec sells their own version of them for less $$$ if not having OEM parts isn't a big deal for you.
I added the factory ones as well. Got a great deal through Amazon. for a close to stock Jeep IMHO they do look the best.
I am thinking of making mine look more aggressive though. Bigger/better tires, flatish fenders, after market bumpers. If I go that route I might take mine off and go more with a slider/nerf bar look.
Thanks Guys, they all look nice I found these on Quadratec $200. Nice look to them I think. Ebay and Amazon sells them for around $160. WHat do you think?
I really like the clean lines of the factory steps and the way they tie in the stock flares, but gotta question about their sturdiness. My '14 JKS is a daily driver, not a rock climber (I might hop a curb or find a rutted dirt road once in awhile) so my concern comes from the topside rather than underneath...
I dunno how to ask this delicately...
I'm a big guy, clocking in at well north of 250 lbs. Granted, I'm certainly not going to be jumping on the side steps, but will my weight be an issue at all using them frequently? I know they're attached to the frame, but haven't seen any detail of how rugged the mounting hardware is.

I also like the clean look of the factory tubular side steps, you can get them on Amazon for a bit under $300. I am going to post a WTB on craigslist and see if anyone has something they are looking to get rid of. Not really a priority for me right now, I just got the rig and need to spend $450 on the Tuffy locker and another $$$ on a soft top.
Is there anything in the 3-rd party options in the $200 and under range worth considering. I am like the OP - not gonna go crawling, rough trails is about as hard as it is gonna get. This is mostly for my wife, who has a bit of a hard time hopping i. So they gotta look good.
You should be able to get oem side steps for a great price on Craiglist, e-bay and on Kijiji Canada. I sold mine for $200 and they were sold as soon as I put them on Kijiji. Many people get rid of them right away in favor of rock sliders so there are usually tons to choose from.
Here in Canada they list for almost $500 at the dealerships.
That's what I was expecting, with all the tires, rims, and other pullouts listed. However, at the moment I can't find anything listed in SoCal for under $300. Will keep looking, hopefully I get to score something for around $200. They do retail for around $500.
I prefer the tubular Mopar steps, much cleaner look IMO. The standard ones do sell quite cheaply on CL and eBay, I have yet to find tubular ones for less than $300.
I love my factory side steps. Not only do they look good, they serve a real purpose - they keep mud, road debris and salt off of your paint on the rocker panels!
