Skid Plate

I have a new 2009 JK. Last friday I removed the plastic POS skid plate on my jeep. (No I did not properly remove the skid plate by rolling her up on to a stump and ripping it out, I pulled the plastic plugs out, basically uninstaller it LOL)

My question is, if I am just road driving right now, how important it is to have a skid plate on it. I the looks so much better with out the skid plate. I am trying to hold off to cause I want to get a new bumper and I am still trying to decide what front bumper to get and also save up money for it. I would like to get a wrench, but I will not be able to afford a wrench and bumper at the same time and trying to figure out if i should wait and get it all at once, or baby step into it and get the wrench bumper and wait on the wrench.

anyways, is it ok for me to hold off on the skid plate if I am not off roading right now?

Yeah taking the air deflector off (whatever its called) under there would make your hood bounce when driving on a windy day or when a semi pass by.I just left mine alone...i know it not going nowhere.

As far as skids or armor...all the oem skids you got under there are durable.Mine is all dented up and its still holding up.The oil pan and muffler should be protected too but since your a light wheeler you dont really have to.
