Skid Plates and front cross member

This might be an odd question, but here it goes anyway. I just put a Rock Hard oil pan, transmission and catalytic converter skid plate on my 2013 Wrangler. I had to remove the
Cross member in front of my main cross over. The plate is attached to the bracket for the motor mount and says it won't support the Jeeps wait. I was going to get spacers and longer bolts to put the cross member back on or try and make one to fit. Is this necessary or am I over thinking?

There is a hole on the motor mount that is used for the skid plate arm. No need to loosen motor mount bolt.

I have the same skid plate and it is one heavy mother. The skid plate arm on the left side of mine hits around the back of the front diff when ever I go over a speed bump. But, I hope it's because of the new front bumper and winch. TF leveling kit goes on Monday. I hope that takes care of the, "thump". It's driving me crazy. I even went as far as grinding an edge of the arm for more clearance. Helped some. If the leveling kit doesn't work the skid plate is coming off.

I was afraid of that. I forgot to put in my first post that I have a different brand of skid that requires loosening of the MM. Guess ill keep trying!

I used Skid Row armor skid plates (they don't require any drilling other than one hole on the right lower control arm assembly) and as part of the installation the factory cross member is removed...and tossed. It serves no purpose other than to hold up the factory skids (which are unfortunately not great). I actually had the shop itself install all of these though, unlike other skid plate brands, this one is probably the easiest to install as it is bolt on. For reference, these were put on my 10th Anniv edition this week.

Thanks for the replies, I was nervous the crossmember had a structural function.
