First post. So I recently bought a 2 door 75th anniversary and loving every second of it. I have a small dog. He is a dachshund mixed with a lab. But a small dog. Running doorless and topless I was wondering if anyone has used the spider webbing with smaller dogs. I am just worried about him sticking his head through the webbing and getting stuck. Potential neck/back injuries. He wears a harness and I will be getting something to keep him in the jeep. I'm just really wondering how big the holes in the webbing are. Thanks

We have 2 chihuahuas and went doorless and topless last weekend. We just used their leashes and held them in that way. Didn't feel safe at all. Probably won't be taking them with the jeep naked again. Too risky imo

The holes in the webbing are 4" by 4".

This is my first summer with dog (was my daughter's but now with me).

I haven't figured how to go doorless yet. Might try the cargo area barrier also, but not sure about keeping her in the back???

Currently, she enjoys sitting on the passenger seat, water in a cup holder and likes to put her feet on the arm rest and look out the window (every time I come to a stop). She gets psycho excited just hearing me say the word jeep.

Of course, she's not thrilled when I get out without her, even if it is just to take a quick pic:

Might just try one of the harnesses that hold the dog to the seatbelt. Keep it snug?

Take a leash and tie/choak the roll bar in the center between/above the seats. Make sure it is short enough so they can't get over the side but long enough they can move from the front to back seats, works great for out hound. Once we are in the woods I just unhook him and drive around or just let him run in front of the rig.

I have the same dilemma two ShihTzu's 2 dr jeep. I haven't tried going door-less with them yet but they love to ride in it. You might do a search on this thread on the forum, there are some pretty creative solutions in it. search for Pic Request: Dog Harnesses and Restraints
