I did a quick search of past post's and havent found a similar question. The other half (who is the primary driver) asked if I would consult the collective wisdom on this topic.
The issue is a smell stronger than the normal mild hydrogen sulfide smell that you occasionally get with a catalytic converter. This smell, described as being like the smell of a septic tank being pumped occurs when the car is restarted after being driven a short distance.
My first thought goes to the catalytic converters not getting up to an effective temperature, cooling and then getting hit with exhaust gases.
Experiences or thoughts?
