Smittybilt Sure Step 3 In. Side Bars??

New to the Forum and just bought my jeep, and looking to get some side steps. Just wondering if you guys had any experience with the Smittybilt Sure Step Side Bars (manufacturer part number is JN48-S2B) and if so what did you think about them? Or do you have any other recommendations? I'm trying to keep it below $300.
-Thanks in advance!

Ive been looking into these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Rugged ridge 3" - Good reviews, and install seems simple.

I've read a lot of complaints about Smittybilt products, and it's kind of got me cautious about going with their products. No personal experience though. The complaints were mainly with bumpers, and holes not lining up with factory mount points, and manufacturing inconsistencies, but who knows if that's wide spread. The product looks nice. I like when Amazon has the product, and I can read customer reviews. They have this part you're talking about, but no reviews unfortunately...

My goal is to get something that will double as something to block snow, slush, salt and dirt from MN roads from splashing up into door handles and the rear fenders. Rugged Ridge also makes a 4.25" oval tube side step that looks like it may serve my purposes. A little more cash, but still not too bad. $260 on amazon, and positive reviews.

If you settle in on something, post pics. I'll do the same, but I think I'm a month away from pulling the trigger. Good luck.

That's good reasoning, I'll have to look into the little bit bigger bars, the price range is gonna depend on how much I have to spend at the tag office on Monday 😒
Thanks for the input

Just absolutely pissed about my new smittybuilt bars...tightened them down after getting them all lined up...and broke them.
The bolts go through the bracket, and then have a thread inside the bars, these inserts all pulled out! Not a huge deal, but now I have to spark up my mig welder, and permanently attach the bars to the brackets. If you go with these, don't overtighten them!!

I have those Smittybilt side bars on my 2011 JKUS and have no complaints. I believe I got them from 4wd.com for less then $150. Easy to install too.
