SmittyBilt TrailNet

We saw this "top" at the Jeep Expo here in Atlanta last month & picked one up. They originally designed it for Jeepers who needed something to keep cargo contained with the top down but found out that it was very popular with folks like us who take the dogs out.

Just over $100 from SmittyBilt.

That looks Great! I like it!

Does it go across the back of the front seats as well, or just over the rear section? Looks like it locks into the tub edges around the back and sides. Does the back part unzip? Tried it at highway speeds yet? Just curious about the flapping potential.

Thanks!

Cheers!

It looks like it connects to the body where the soft top does so it will have to come off. I have Safari Straps and they stay on with the top up. No flapping in the wind.

Yes it locks into the tub edges around the back and on what would be the sail panels on a soft top. It goes over the back seats and locks into the sound bar with two clips. The back has two heavy duty back zippers and uses the bar from the standard soft top to hold in across the top of the tailgate. Easy to open very wide for loading. It hooks into the top rails pretty much the same way the soft top does - except for not having bows of course.

We've driven at highway speeds but so far just for short distances. It's as noisy as you might expect but no real objectionable flapping. If I was going on a long road trip I'd probably leave the soft top on till I got where I was going - the trail-net doesn't take up much space in it's carrying bag. Then probably takes about 5 min to put on after you pull the regular top.

The only problem with those PVC type safari straps is they stretch after awhile, sooner depending how hot it gets where you live. And they flap like crazy once they do.

I had them when they first came out and eventually thrashed it and went with the same type Daggo66 have.

This does not appear to be PVC or straps for that matter. On close inspection it appears to be made from a solid sheet of nylon fabric with the openings cut out. The material seems similar to the soft top but lighter weight.

As to stretching over time, I guess we'll find out.

Thanks for the info!

It has that "Bestop Trektop" look to it, with the slant back. Looks cool!

Cheers!

Click the "PLAY" button in the middle of the screen. I believe this is what you're referring to, the SunRider. My 2-Dr has it:

Best of Luck!

Sunrider soft top is standard on 4 doors, option on 2 doors.
