Snorkle advice please

So. I went camping last weekend. And the spot we found was on the other side of this river. But it was as deep as the bottom of my cai. I know I could of Carried a wave and prob made it through but didnt risk it. So I just found the trails that went around which was fun. Was taxiing everyone's gear in though since I was the only one who could make it to this spot . Anyway. Iv decided its time for a snorkel. Are there any snorkel systems that don't conflict with windshield lights. And. What else do you need to change when it comes to deep water fording. Other then the breather hoses. What about the alternator. Or any other wiring or anything? I have a 2011 jkur 6 speed.. Thanks!

if it's deep enough to need a snorkel you are going to have issues with electrical components when the water comes in the doors.

You will also need to worry about the diff, transmission, and transfercase breathers. Other wise water will get into those components and do some damage

the Rugged Ridge Modular XHD Snorkel Kit gives you the option to run a traditional high intake or put the cowleing hight intake on it.

And the carpets, seats, your clothe, sall gear stowed in the back, fuse block behind glovebox, speakers.

If it's deep, go around.

No deeper then the hood. And not long crossings. Did the breathers already. How does the alternator handle water

The water doesn't come in as fast as you'd think it would. It seriously just creeps in. If you're just crossing >1min then all you need to worry about is wet carpets, (time to rip out or line the tub) also there are connectors under your seats.. zip tie them to the bottom of the seats maybe? Just don't let them hang down. And if you're talking about LED lighting on the windshield or a light bar, you can shave down Rugged Ridge's snorkel to fit... Cheers.

Edit: As for the alt. mine stood in water running for 2 hours. Its still alive and kicking.. I don't think water would be good for it though.. Bring a spare!
