So Bummed.....

I was all ready to buy a Rubi X, was working a deal on one and......I won't be able to join you JK owners anytime soon. I am broke. My wife and I were figuring out our budget for next year and it's a no-go. I had the option of trading my 2007 Tundra in, but I really need a truck. The Jeep was going to be a "toy" of sorts. So here I sit, envious of all the posts showing and talking about the great fun of owning a JK!!
One day....one day.....

If it's a toy, buy a used one and have fun with it.

Have your wife get a second or third job. There are 24 hours in a day.

I think you are smart. You can always get one later when things are better.

They've been selling them since 1947. You'll have one when the time is right.

Trade in the tundra and get a small trailer to pull behind the JK.
Or do what I did. I convinced the wife she needed a truck to pull her stupid camper. So she traded her car off on her new Ram to pull her camper and I went right out and traded off my truck for my JK. Win win.

Well, props to you. You know your financial limitations and you have an intelligent budget involving your spouse. That's better than most people.

6 years ago I couldn't even afford my own vehicle. Since then I've established my credit, established my career, and I'm taking delivery of a new '14 JKR this week.

But you know what? You're better off. You have a spouse that you love and you have future dreams that you can continue to strive for. Keep making the intelligent choices and you will get yours. And in the meantime, hats off to you for being more responsible than I used to be.

Thanks everybody for the "support". I will make it. Thiswebsite & you guys will keep the Jeep flame burning. I am fortunate enough to have a great family and friends. Much more important than a Jeep. Maybe by the time I can afford one, they will be more reasonable priced?! Not!!!
You all be safe out there, crawling over rocks, curbs, gravel driveways, grassy yards and such! Just make sure you post your adventure here with pics for us Jeepless folks!

Okay so I am a newb! I was reading your post and you know my husband and I were in the same situation. We took a chance (mostly because I really wanted my wrangler) and made the commitment to buy! We figured in about how much we spend in eating out(onceaweek) for a family of four we would save about. 320 a month. You can do it! We also purchased a used one which saved us about 15 grand! Good luck my friend!
