So does the 2015 Hard Rock have the 1/2" lift of the 10A or no?

I've asked this question in a couple of threads and have seen like 4 different answers.

It seems that the 2015 Hard Rock is just a renaming of the 2014 Rubicon X package, which does NOT have the 1/2" lift of the 2013 10th Anniversary Edition.

It's possible that they added it back specifically for the 2015 HR, and I've seen this claim, but then again, the 2015 HR has the same tires as the regular Rubicon, not the KM2 265/70R17 tires of the 10A which was the reason for the 1/2" lift of the 10A in the first place.

Thoughts?

Not sure. But on other than a "nice to know" basis, I would not let a whole 1/2 inch of lift make a difference if I was deciding on a purchase.

A long with the early mention of the 1/2" lift of the 10A, for later in the '15 model year, there was also mention that there might be the return of the KM2 265/70R17 tires as an optional upgrade for the Hard Rock.

But I agree, it would be nice if someone with a Hard Rock could compare there's with both a 10A and an X.

Tire sizes

I have a Rubicon 10A and it came with 265/70R17 tires. I'm not sure how these are an "upgrade" to the 255/75R17 Rubicon tires.
Consider the following:

Sport tires: 225/75R16 8.9" wide x 29.3" Dia
Sahara tires: 255/70/R18 10.0" wide x 32.1" Dia
Rubicon tires: 255/75R17 10.0" wide x 32.1" Dia
Rubi 10A tires: 265/70R17 10.4" wide x 31.6" Dia

The 10A actually has a 1/2" SMALLER diameter tire than the Rubicon (or X).

....However, I still love my 10A.

The 10A has 1" lift over the regular Rubicon. When it was stated as 1/2" lift that was considering the 1/2" lost due to tire diameter. If you measure from a base model, the 10A is about 1.5" to 2" lift assuming everything is equal in terms how you measure the lift.

The 10A 006/009 springs are good springs. If the 2015 HR comes with them, it's worth the wait.

I can install 0.5" rear spacer and 1.0" front spacer and net out a 2.5" factory lift.

Install a HD track bar and really good shocks and yer done.

Good info.

I wish they would sell a Jeep that was a total stripper (even moreso than the Willys Wheeler) but with all the Rubicon goodies. I have zero interest in the leather seats, connectivity package, red highlights, etc of the Hard Rock but the steel bumpers are cool and if it has the better springs that would be awesome.

No they do not.
Just to be clear that the question is answered, you put a '15 Hard Rock next to a '13 10A and a '14 RX, and the Hard Rock lined right up with the RX and not the 10A.

I looked at a Hard Rock Edition last week at my dealer... They are exactly like the RubiconX except for the audio system. No additional lift. Same stance as a regular Rubicon with black wheels

This is correct, I know because I backed my 10AE right up

Who Cares…1/2" make zero difference in the total scheme of anything

To ones that a lift matters, they will just pull that crap off and throw them away anyway. Then go with the lift of their choice.

Who cares you ask ...all the owners that install leveling kits, all those trading up to stiffer stock coils, all those that want to eliminate the droop from heavy bumpers and winches, all those that hate rake in general and I am sure there a at least a few more.

The 10a has heavier bumpers. The increased rate /height keeps the coils from sagging.
Kind if surprised the X did not stay with the same coils.
