Soft doors

I love driving without my top and doors. I like to cover the Jeep with a Bestop trail cover at night. It's my DD so if the forecast is for rain, I put the soft top back up and the doors on. I don't have a garage so the doors get stored in the basement. It's a PITA, but still worth it.

I'm thinking about the Bestop soft half doors and uppers to run all summer when I need to put the top up. I know the zipper windows will also be a PITA, but as long as the weather is nice they will be off.

What do you guys (and gals) think?

From talking to local wheelers, the JK soft doors tend to leak, even if you add weatherstripping. They are usually just a hair on the small side, and seep some water around the seams. For a bit more $, get the Bestop Element tube doors and paintable skins- add a little weather stripping, and you're golden! Mark W.

Even if the doors leak, if you are using the Trail cover it won't matter. And soft doors would be better for driving than no doors, imo... Zipper windows are not that big a deal. Honestly, I have them year round. It is a Jeep after all.. What's the problem with a little inconvenience?

I don't want any doors except when it rains! Thanks for your zipper window opinion. That's what I'm looking for.

My main goal is to drive without any doors as much as possible. I am looking for the cost trade off between carrying my heavy doors once or twice a week when it rains verses the price of something easier. The Elemnet doors with the skins and the uppers don't meet the cost criteria. For that price the inconvenience is worth it. The price for the fabric doors has me considering it.

I'd go for it if I were you, I totally think they'd be worth it... But I have half doors that I've yet to remove, cause they are just so perfect...
