Soft half doors worth buying?

I'm thinking about buying some soft half doors for my 2010 Islander.
Anyone have experiences/reasons why I shouldn't purchase them?
Realibilty, fit problems....any warnings?
Thanks.

My approach is very simple.. Either you go for the real OEM halve doors (mucho... $$$) or settle for some nice tube doors without that soft half panel..Bare tube doors have their own charm as well...
Tube doors give you a nice outdoor feel once you wheel around..don't worry about getting wet..If that bothers you, then stick with the full doors..
Quality wise, I think they all are similar.. The common denominator issue is the door latch rattle.. But that can be fixed...

Just my humble opinion..

Yeah there's no way I'm spending $3k on new OEM doors.
Thanks for suggestions !

For some reason (warm weather?) half doors have been covered a lot recently.

Here's one thread worth reading.

But do a search for half doors and read thru.

Generally speaking:

-Pluses are lightweight, easy to stow, great for flexibility (half, full, no door options), I get a commission when you buy them (kidding!).

-Minuses are cost, wind noise, less protection than steel doors.

Also recommend searching for Element Doors, or go to our web site (bestop.com) and read up on them. They're tube doors, but they have kits that turn them into nice half doors.

I run the half doors on my TJ, same manufacturer, slightly different style. I like them a lot, they do afford a fair amount of wind protection, and let in a lot more air than the full doors. The nice thing is I can have them on in the morning when it's cold outside, then toss them in the back and go doorless for the ride home. I wouldn't mind real 1/2 doors, but I'm not giving up my full doors with roll up windows for plastic zip out's.

That's awesome Ray.

I said "wind noise" was a negative, and you turned it into a positive. "One nice thing is that they let in a lot more air than full doors..."

That's brilliant. Keep that sh#t up and we'll be swapping jobs. Unless you have a job that requires some sort of skill. In which case, you'll just have two jobs!
