Soft top

Hey people, might be a dumb question but I just wanted to make sure. Will a soft top coming from a 2010 JKU fit a 2014 JKU? Found a guy who's selling his never been used soft top for $400. Everything still wrapped up in boxes. Thanks for the help.

As long as you get all the parts, including the surrounds and brackets, then yes it will fit fine.

They changed the design in 2011 to a cable system, so I would say no it won't fit. Also, the windows are larger starting in 2011.

Not true- design was changed earlier. My '10 has the cable system. I also think the larger windows are only for hard top. OP, the only difference I know of between '10-&-'13 is the lift assist in '13.

None of which has anything to do with whether or not it will fit. There is no change in the size of a JK since 07. As long as all the parts are included, as previously stated, any year JK soft top will fit any year JK.

11+ definitely has larger soft top windows.

^^^This. Tom called this one. The door surrounds changed for the cable system. And the windows are bigger as well. So as long as ALL the parts are included it is a 100% match from '09 up. '07 and '08s had the footman loop centered, and the groove for it in the header was formed to match. In '09 the header groove was lengthened.

Yes, it will fit. The cable system was introduced in mid 2010, so some 2010's had it, some did not. As to window size - it doesn't matter. The frame and surrounds are what matters.
FYI - I did the same thing you're looking to do. I bought a soft top off a 2010 JKU and put it on my 2013 JKU. While $400 is a good price, you might want to see if you can pick up the new spring assist soft top fom a 2013 model. Much, much easier to take down and put up.
