Soft top Advice

I just purchased my first Jeep. 2007 2dr Wrangler X. It only came with a three piece hardtop. I need some advice on what kind of soft top to get. I want something I can store in the vehicle for the summer so I can pop it on in the case of rain. Suggestions would be great . Thank you!

You can get an emergency top, although those aren't for driving. Best thing to get is a used soft top on Craigslist they range from 300-700ish

Thx

Bestop Supertop NX. Or even the Trektop NX. They're a bit expensive, but high quality well worth it. If needed you can pop it up in case of rain and drive on your way.

The Bestop Trektop NX has a $65 instant rebate on it at Quadratec right now, and if you go through Google Shopping it's free shipping.

Final price $575, right? They've run that sale for as long as I've been looking at tops (5 months).
The trektop is $550 on amazon right now, but check with some of the site sponsors. They might be even cheaper. I ordered my Supertop from Amazon only to find out that one of our site sponsors (extreme terrain I think?) would have given it to me cheaper. I would have preferred to support them and not Amazon!

I've read that you can't take the Trektop with you ... So I think I'm going to go with the Supertop NX since it stores in the vehicle. It seems easy to get on and off too... Anyone have experience with either? Are these better then OEM?

Not sure if you already ordered one but I did go with the Bestop® Trektop NX and they have a great rebate on it. More importantly I went through Quadratec. They will match any price AND you get free shipping for being a forum member. I got mine in 2 days and the customer service is great!

Where are you located? I have a Premium soft top for 2door if you're interested, it's thicker 3 ply vs 1 ply ones found on the standard soft tops...a lot quieter and insulate better. i'm looking for a hard top myself

As for how long to put up, your first time will take about 20-30 minutes. Once you get it figured out and a system down, you can probably get the top up in less than 10 minutes, by yourself. That includes having the windows zipped in.

First time you install, make a warm sunny day. Let the top sit in the sun for a bit to become more pliable.

Thanks! I am going to go with the Supertop since I can roll it back and keep it with me. The Trektop looks so much cooler but I would have to leave it home when I venture out

Anyone looking at the supertop NX should PM Phil from extreme terrain. With their forum discount, the Supertop NX is $838 less the $100 rebate = $738.

And I thought I was doing good when I paid $850 just over a month ago!

Look for a factory soft top, I had a trektop and I hated it, pia to put back on. I have since purchase 2 factory soft tops, one for my jkur and one for my wife's jku. Could not give me a trektop. Factory top up or down in a matter of a few seconds. Bought both off Craigslist for $300 each, and one is still new in plastic. With the cold weather shouldnt be too hard to find one.

Ditto. I just paid $800 on CL but got a 2013 premium soft top with the new spring assist. Lots of Jeeps come with the dual top option and plenty of people don't want the soft top.
