Soft top air leakage on 07- 4dr wrangler

I have a 07 4 door wrangler. It is mostly garage kept. I have noticed recently that I have an "air" leak in the middle of the window where the soft top comes down. (If this makes sense) From the inside, I can pull the top down and it stops but since it is in the middle I don't have a "latch".

Any suggestions on how to stop this? I took the top off and put it back on and it is still there. The weatherseal still seams to be in good shape and I don't get any water. It is just the air noise that is driving me nuts.

There's a tech service bulletin (TSB) on 2007 and up soft tops for "excessive wind noise"
Has to do with the plastic header warping and causing this condition.
Just bought a 2007 2 door myself and experienced the same noise...found the TSB on here and printed out the actual Chrysler/Jeep document and brought it to a dealer. They looked at it and agreed that it was excessive, and ordered the upgrade part and installed it. No more noise! I'll see if I can find the TSB number and post it for you.

Read this...it's the link to the thread with the TSB (23-010-09 Rev A 2007-2009 soft top "wind noise")

^^^ What he said! The key words to tell your Dealer are, "WIND NOISE"..., that's what the TSB is setup for. Feels like a New Jeep when it's done!

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

Thank you very much! I will check into this.

Where can I print this tech service bulletin? I want to have something in hand before I go to my dealer.

Where did you find the Chrysler/Jeep document? I did a quick search on the internet and didn't find it.

Got it! Thanks!

Give you an update. My jeep is out of warranty so Jeep or my dealership WILL NOT step up and take care of this. I have gotten quotes from $300 to $450. I am so pissed at Jeep right now.

Hmmm...that sucks. Is that for the whole job/header replacement, or just the new part?
If you have a heated garage you could do it yourself with the instructions (maybe)
Or get the part and have a Jeep repair party with friends...get pizza and beer (afterwards )
Sorry about the dealer not stepping up, but I assume it's a labor intensive job as it took them about 3-4 hours to fix mine while I waited...
