Soft Top Fit Q&A ???????

Hello everyone..... I've searched to find some answers for soft top fitting and they are few and far between so I was thinking of starting this thread so we can post from our own experiences what tops are exchangeable from year to year......

I'd like to know if a 2007 will fit a 2012 (both are 4 door). Thanks!!

Body doesn't change.

Any top will fit any year -as long as all the hardware is included for the year top.

I just bought a used 2007 and installed it
Rather easily... However I'm not sure if it's fitting right... The front part that latches doesn't seem to sit down all the way... It's raised on mine about 3/4 of an inch in the middle...

So I'm confused if its really supposed to fit!

OK... not to jump in here but wanted to share what I just found out... I have a 2012 Altitude/Sahara... bought a 2007 soft top off CL installed flawless but couldn't get the front to settle correctly... just got back from the dealer looking at it and the older top doesn't fit correctly... so just a heads up... anyone interested in a 2007 Soft Top? All parts included!!!!

The dealer just told me no... after i bought one on CL and installed this weekend... The middle bracket for the freedom top interferes with the header seating fully...

So thats my story...

Every keeps saying that but I'm finding it's not true... and the dealer confirmed... the middle bracket is offset to the left of the indention in the header... this pushes the header above the roof line and wont let it lay properly...

I had the same issue with a 2008 top on my 2012 JK (2dr). I used a grinding wheel and ground the header in that spot just enough to clear the bracket, fixed it right up. I do have an issue with excessive wind noise, but no leakes. I have been told that some of the early headers had a design flaw that caused excessive wind noise and a new header will resolve that issue.

the footmans loop can be removed i do believe. just take it off, or do what dprimm did and grind down the header.

I had a 2011 and my friend has a 2007, I sold my 2011 for a 2012 JKU (the 2011 was a 2dr) when my wife and I had a baby. My 2011 soft top fits PERFECTLY on his 2007. I'm not trying to discredit what your saying Joshua, but if it's just the footmans loop that's giving you the problem, I would just fix it, but that's just me

Yes...make sure you extend them all the way. This means flatten them out by pulling the latch rearward and pushing the connection hook forward.
