When I open the sunrider of my softop, the frame rattles like its going to explode. All parts are tight and are where they are supposed to be. I have found the frame lifts up to the 2 latches in the middle of the surrounds. The latches do their job, but the frame has about a 1/2" of play in the latches.
Anyone have this issue? Has anyone discovered a fix for it? All help is appreciated. Thanks.

I wish it was. Fixed those last time. Lol. It's a JKU and it the latches between the front and rear doors which secure the top, until u want to fold the whole top down.
Hey RI WRANGLER .....Don't all vehicles "rattle" in R.I.? The roads are so bad there that they give Michigan a run for their money. I'll be in R.I. next week....to see if they fixed some of the potholes I drove into last month.
ok- i tried the rubber bands, and some of the rattle went away but the noise from the clips hitting the header is still there.
Maybe im missing something-how did you solve this?

I actually have the opposite problem. My top is quiet in sunrider mode, but rattles like hell when down. Something with the bow brackets, I think. I've given up on trying to fix it and just kinda bungee the top to the rollbar in redneck fashion.
For the latches on the header bar rattling, go to Walmart and get baby socks. They have black ones with grippy material on the bottom. Turn them inside out and slide them on. You get two pair for $3 I believe so if you happen to lose them you have a backup. I think it was mentioned in the cheap mods thread.
I've never used the velcro straps when it's in the sunrider position but I know they are recommended. Try those if you have them.

I took the equivalent of a shoe string and tied it to the inner softtop frame, just above the back seat doubled it, adjusted the length to where it was just long enough to hook on the roof brackets when the top is folded back, very simple, always handy!!
