Angry Soft top help!

I purchased a soft top for our 4 door 2013 JK. The problem I have is that the window edge that is supposed to seal with the frame is not doing so. It just flaps in the wind! Seems like something may be wrong here. Any suggestions?? I will attach a pic.

I built and installed my top this weekend too, 13 JKU, and had the same issue.

The window panel has a hard 90 degree edge which actually presses into the channel of the door frame. This is really only achievable if the window is mostly unzipped, otherwise, you'll break a thumb trying to force it. It's sort of the same principal as the bottom of the window in how it snaps into the body channel.

Does that help at all? Did I make any sense? I may have made it worse...

Not sure if that helped but because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Also, installing the side windows in this order has worked pretty well so far.

1. Start the zipper for maybe an inch
2. Press the door edge into the door channel (the area giving you problems)
3. Complete the zip
4. Tuck the bottom channel piece in
5. Recheck the door seal - sometimes pushing the bottom channel piece in causes the door channel piece to back out, esp. at the top
6. Smooth out the rear Velcro
7. Tuck in the top Velcro stip.
8. Beer!

Unless you're putting in both windows, in which case you repeat and have two beers!

The side windows are not installed properly. The leading edge of the window needs to "roll" into the c-channel of the door surround. Essentially, it needs to make another 90-degree bend into the surround.

There was a great write-up from MTH on how to install the windows, but I just can't find it right now.

Maybe someone else has that thread bookmarked and can reference it. His explanation is one of the best.

Zip about 1"-2"

Use the rear Velcro just to hold window up

Tuck into U channel

Zip completely

Pull from the rear grabbing the U channel tight

Secure plastic into body channel

Velcro and Done
