Ok Iím sorry but I didnít read the whole thread so I apologize in advance if this question has been answered. I have only the hard top on my 2014 JKU because I donít like the square back stock softy. I am taking my hard top completely off this weekend because of the long weekend (and is finally ordered a hardtop dolly) I have a garage at home and work, therefore I can dodge the rain for the most part. Do you think the Mopar Bikini top would help at all in the rain if Iím going to and from work and get caught in an emergency?

Suggestion...add a wind jammer and duster deck cover (with extension for JKU) and IMO you will be all right....translation...it will get wet inside but except for an extreme downpour, it will be liveable........I would also pull the carpet and just run rubber mats.

I realize this is approaching the cost of the ST....but it is the best way to go....short of purchasing a ST. Good Luck!!

Anyone have the Quadratop NX yet? i have a 2014 2door and think i might get that one but wanted to see if anyone has it already.
I dont want the tech top version because it doesnt just roll back.
I did just find a super deal in a standard factory soft top but it doesnt have the tinted windows...and i would then later buy the premium fabric once it wears out.

No drilling should be required for any of the soft tops, as far as I know.

If you buy a used (pre-2010, I think) soft top, you may have to modify the header bar or remove the center footman's loop.

This is just a rebranded bestop.

thanks StarBrite. i was told its either a 2012 or 2013 standard soft top . hoping to look at it this weekend. is the unlimited install from scratch the same pretty much as the 2door..i see the video on page 1.

Also i didnt know bestop made one that came with a full frame. i have seen a few jeeps local that have super black colored tops i assume those were factory only premiums.

Check out this video. Maybe it will help more. If it does, would you let me know? I'll add it to post one.

You know that bestop makes the OEM tops, right? Maybe there is just one thing different from factory that allows them to sell it and not violate their non-compete.

That's the video I followed much better than printed instructions included with top.

I'll get that W fold yet. First time on hiway and top was ballooning up. Had rear window out. When I stopped noticed again I had fabric caught in frame

Have a nice W now, will see how she fares on ride back home

I have replace a top tinted windows coming in this afternoon, so I'm hoping this will go with no surprises.
Am I naÔve? or is this easy button?

Star, great thread, I read at least 25 pages and jumped forward.

I've not tried to replace a top yet. Mine's not even a year old yet. Here's hoping it is as easy as you think!

I'm glad the thread was useful for you!

It's "easy" if you are the kind of person that can figure out how things are supposed to work and go together. I assume you are keeping your hardware and just replacing the fabric? The header might give you some trouble but since you have to remove the old fabric you will see how it all goes together.

Well, this was just tinted windows and all was going well until I tried to zip in the new rear window. It was for the '07-'10 JKs, so 4WheelParts sends me down to their West Palm store and they handle the exchange.
Items like this are the times when I order from them, otherwise I shop around online.

Loose door seal during sunrider

We have the premium soft top, and I want to see if something we noticed today on our 2015 2-door was normal. We had the back window out, side windows in, sunrider back. I looked in the side mirror and could see the door seal (the piece that has the angled hard rubber that normally fits inside the door jamb) loose and flapping in the wind? The drivers side did the same thing. With the top latched back I didn't see them flapping. Is this normal?

I don't have the Premium top...if I am understanding correctly the leading or front edge of the side windows came out of the door surrounds.......

IMO it is not normal...has never happened on my TJ or JK....I THINK the leading edge was not "tucked enough" to begin with

Sounds like you don't have it installed properly. You need to take the hard plastic, turn it so that the edge that is bent 90 degrees faces the back of the Jeep. Then insert the plastic into the slot on the door surround. If you just stick it inside the door jamb, it won't stay and will blow out.

Thanks! I'll look at it again tonight when I get home to make sure it's the way you suggested.

I have read and re-read this thread, I am still confused. I have a 2014 with a regular (sailcloth) top. I want to clean it and protect it properly. I want to use the 303 Aerospace products but there are many to choose from...let me see if I have this right:

303 Aerospace Protectant (30313) - which I can also use on the fenders and dash

303 Aerospace Cleaner (30550)

and Vegas Plexus spray cleaner for the windows?

Thanks!

Here is a description for the protectant:

303 PRODUCTS Aerospace Protectant (30350, 1 quart size)

Powerful UV-screening treatment protects vinyl, rubber, Hypalon, urethane, gelcoat, fiberglass, Lexan and sailcloth. Repels dust, dirt and water spots. Non-oily finish. No harmful silicone oils, petroleum distillates or waxes. Nontoxic, environmentally safe. Pint and quart sizes include sprayer.

Everything else looks correct!

Can someone give me ideas on how best to store my soft top for the winter. Should I hang it on wall brackets, fold it best I can and pay it down?? Any Ideas would help. I only have a storage area about 15x20 so not a full garage to make this work. I have a boot for the top when it is folded down on the jeep, I was thinking I should zip the boot around it and hang it on the wall but am wondering if I will crease the fabric.
Thanks for the help.

That's exactly how I store mine and it's been fine on each of my Jeeps come spring.
