Soft Top Installed

Hey Guys & Gals, I purchased a 2010 JK in December and it came with both tops (hard & soft). Today I decided to put the soft top on so on nice days I could get used to putting it up and down but after how hard it was to get on I'm scared to even pop a latch fearing I won't be able to get it back on by myself. Now that it's on I'm hoping the it will stretch enough so I can raise and lower it when I go to Nashville in May? Anyone else have a hard time putting theirs on the first time? How long does it take for it to be manageable to raise and lower my yourself?

Now I mentioned I will be going to Nashville in May is there any place to go off road (nothing extreme) in the mountain. I may not even stay in Nashville we end up going to Gatlinburg?

Here's an old thread I posted when I put up my soft top for the first time. Read through the responses there:

It definitely gets easier. I can now put it up or take it down in just a few minutes. Don't worry about it.

Yep, took me and my girlfriend ages to get it on the first time (that sounds a bit dodgy). Second time was heaps easier, now with two of us it's literally 5 minutes up or down. On your own a few minutes longer.

To make sure it clips in, we do up the front latches fully as the first step, as sometimes they'll come unclipped during the process and you won't be able to get them on at the end.
You'll also pick up tricks to make the windows easier. Make sure you zip them up only an inch or so, then push them into the door jams, close the door, and do the rest of them up.

Good luck.

Good luck.
If you clip them properly into the "C" channels there's no need to close the doors. That part can be hard to figure out... I know we had trouble with it.
