Soft Top Issue

So I swapped the hard top with the soft top for the first time since buying the Jeep last month. Everything went on fine without issues until I went to put on the driver side back window. The passenger door does not close properly unless I pull on the materal. It looks as if the material is just slightly more than needed. Not sure if this is a defect or if it is just because it is new. Here are a few pics....

and a close up...

Has anyone had this issue before or is it nothing major? Thanks!

It kind of looks like it's not tucked into the door surround right.

I do tuck it in and the door will not close. The other side is fine.

Same exact problem here. My passenger side panel seems to have about a 1/2 inch too much material.

Yep. But for me it's driver side back door. 1/2 inch too much material sounds right. What have you done about this? Did you contact your dealer for a replacement or anything?

Its not tucked into the side correctly,,,,,i did the same thing a week ago when i first installed my soft top.Unzip the window up to the top,,,,,pull the window toward the front of the jeep and tuck the material into the space behind the door surround,,,,,u will only be able to see one set of stitching.....it should look like this when installed correctly.

you will not be able to see any stitching when the door is shut

I will have to make those corrections and see what happens. Thanks for those pictures. That helps.

I just swapped the hard top for the soft top yesterday. I had some difficulty stretching it into the channel, but they're right, it needs to be tucked in completely.

my driver side rear door same problem. The fit seams tighter. I use the handle of a wrench and push it all the way in.

Put that leading edge into the channel before zipping the window. First zip about 2 inches to hold the window in place. Tuck the edge into the channel, then tuck the bottom into the channel on the Jeep body, THEN zip the window all the way around. After that, go back and make sure the front edge is fully in the channel, then smooth down the velcro.
