Soft Top Issues

I have a 2008 wrangler 4 door. Side windows are constantly being pulled out of door jam by road wind. How do I resolve this?

They don't go in the door jam. They edgesshould be folded to form a "U" and tuck into the "C" channel of the plastic door surround. Start the zipper about one inch. Tuck the edge into the channel then tuck the bottom edge into the tub channel. Pull the zipper all the way around. Check to make sure the edge is completely in the channnel.

Never an idiot for asking. Not asking and having the wind keep pulling the windows out would be an idiot.

I did the same thing with my 2-door in the beginning, and I'll bet a bunch of others did too.

When I was vacationing in Kaua'i a couple of summers ago, there were a bunch of people in rental Jeeps doing all kinds of hilarious things to the soft tops that they had no idea how to operate.

Yomondo: Those are great photos, and I sent them off to our customer service team. Let me know if you have more.

I think some of those are less "no idea" and more "it's a freakin' rental, just shove it in the back."

And those are just the ones I was able to snap pictures of. There were plenty more on the road that quickly passed by with other different funny stuff going on.

Don't feel bad about that question, had a mechanic at a dealership install a new top on out 08 when we bought it. He thought it went in the door jamb and the window ripped off driving down the highway.
