feel a bit dumb, but I am just glad that the windows weren't designed in a completely stupid manner, I was just doing it wrong.

Thanks Guys!! I only use my soft top when we are going away and there is a chance of rain. My previous Jeep was a 79 CJ7 and didn't have a soft top. I don't think I would have ever figured this out without the forum!
