Soft top storage

We got a dual top JKU. At minimum, the soft top will be stored all winter, probably 5 months a year. If my wife ends up being able to use the hard top hoist, it may will sit all the time and she'll just take the freedom top panels out for regular use or raise the top for occasional top off driving.

We found with the last Jeep, she really just opened the sunrider up 75% of the time and took the windows out also 15% of the time and maybe only 10% put the whole top down.

So, we are temporarily storing the folded up top on 3 ladder hooks on the wall of the garage. Any issue with just the three points of contact if it sits for say a year or more?

How does everyone else with dual top store their soft top for the winter?

Used to have:
2001 Cherokee, 2002 TJ, 2005 LJ

Now have:
2012 JK Unlimited

You should have no issues with the 3 ladder hooks on the garage wall. For winter storage I make sure I give the softop a good washing and spray some 303 protectant. After it is clean & dry I will wrap up the softop into the stock cover that came with the JK and hang it up in my carport. As long as the top is not on the ground were rodents can't get at and chew the top or exposed to the natural elements (sun & moisture) it will be fine!

As for the windows I again clean them up and spray them with 303 protectant and then roll them up in my clover patch (felt liner) and throw them into a nylon pouch and hang up with the softop. With the door surrounds and screws I throw into a nylon pouch and hang with the softop to not get misplaced.

I have mine still rolled up (just like they came on the jeep when I took delivery) and have it hoisted it up on straps in the shed. I have seen them unrolled hung on walls and I think that's how I'll store it for the winter. I plan on using my hardtop during from Oct. through March next year, an even 6 month cycle.
