It's not convenient at all if that's what you mean. Definitely protects your top and gives a fiished look however. My top stays in it nearly the entire summer.

For what it's worth, a couple of guys here with the Premium OEM top have bought boots for their tops and they didn't fit. One guy did some modifications to it to MAKE it fit, but it took some work.

If I recall correctly, the premium top is thicker than the standard, and the bulk doesn't fit within the boot.

Jumping in on this. I have a 2015 JKU with standard, spring assist (which I hate) top. The online reviews and even searching here have been mixed, leaning towards negative. In theory the Mopar boot is the best, but too damn expensive. Plus, I don't want/ need the window storage bags. I don't want to roll my windows and already have the Rugged Ridge flat storage bag. Based on experience (not conjecture, not a friend of a friend) what's the best boot for a '15?

I FINALLY found someone who makes a boot that fits the Premium OEM soft top! I got mine about two weeks ago and I love it!

It's from JeepTopsUSA. They make it in a ton of different colors and patterns. And it's about a third of the cost of the MOPAR boot.

And I love how easy it makes it to get in the back while the soft top is down:

If it's not convenient to use and you plan to keep your top in it most of the time, why not just take the whole top off? Kinda defeats the purpose of having the soft top if it starts to rain and you need your top up quickly, but you have to fool with the boot. Doesn't make sense to me but whatever floats yer boat.

I bought the SmittyBuilt top cover. While its not inconvenient its not the MOST user friendly. The 4door premium top is a bit bulky for it, so I cant quite get the passenger side to "clip" under the rail. The driver side is tight tight tight. I had to fold the top a few extra times to get a better fit inside the boot while zipped. One thing I like about it - you will take the rear window spine off the bottom and side the boot into it to help secure everything down.

I wish I had seen @StarBrite's boot first, thats more along the lines Im looking, plus it would match with the rest of the blue. Plus hers is much cleaner looking.

For what it's worth, it's super easy to use and it really bundles it up. I actually have an improved model boot now (the guys tightened it up a bit). I will go take some new pictures this afternoon. :)

Yeah, I think someone thought my pictures went with your post...

For what it's worth....

Since the JeepTopsUSA boot doesn't connect to the lip of the tub, it should work okay with the Tuffy deck, I believe.

You're welcome, @Beastmaster, @STRIDER946 and @ellie4747!

I hadn't heard of them either, until I went to Jeep Beach. Turns out they are just a couple hours up the road from me, in Dallas. I went up for a tour two weeks ago. Really nice people! :)

Soft Top Boot Challenges

I have the Mopar Premium Soft Top for my JKU. Last year I bought the Rugged Ridge Boot. I was able to make it work. Initially it is very tight and difficult to zip and get to clamp under the Jeeps back corner soft top lip(s).

After 4 or 5 uses it becomes a little less of a pain- still tight. You can get it off the top in a few minutes. It keeps your top covered (not as much off road dust) and looks good. I have received many complements.

Now, this summer I installed the Tuffy Security Enclosure, The Rugged Ridge boot no longer works- as Beastmaster correctly points out. The Tuffy lids back raised edge raises the top to it is higher than without the Tuffy lid- so the Rugged Ridge will not secure to the tub- Bummer.

I like StarBrites boot. I will have to look into that.

They switched their DNS evidently and he's been having some problems. I'll let him know you're having a problem. Sorry about that! :(

You don't list your location; are you close to Dallas? Mike will give a tour of the shop, if you're interested, once he gets back in town.

I will be watching for this and hope it's not indicative of some other issues. This looks like a great addition for my new baby. Really glad I looked in on this thread while watching my wife watch hockey.

Does it come in tank? Very interested in this!
I haven't had any other problems, until this DNS baloney. His stuff is REALLY nice quality. Much different than the other stuff I've seen... :)

Thanks for your help.
You're welcome!!

He needs a new webhost then, DNS shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to propagate. An hour at most.
Yeah, I think wix is yanking his chain. Unfortunately, he's not a super tech guy, so he doesn't realize when they are giving him a line of :censored:. And being on the road has just added to it. :nonono:

I too had a problem getting into the website - then I noticed that the header address was "https" - change that to "http" and you get in no problem.
I will let him know that worked! Thanks! :thumb:

No problem! Just wanted to let you know how close they were, in case you were interested in going to check their products out before you bought, which is what I did. :)
