Soft top warranty question

First nice day all winter, so I went out to put my top town. Found out part of the frame is broken. It's right behind the sun rider hinge so at least I'm able to slide the lock over the break and still put the top up and down.

Anyways, I went to the dealer and filed a warranty claim.

I asked the dealership this and they didn't know the answer" Will they replace the entire frame or just the broken piece?

Part of me hopes they'll only replace the broken piece as it's a quick swap out. If they replace the entire frame that means removing the soft top completely and swapping out all the frame/hardware and would take longer to fix.

Good to know....if the frame was beat up or something, I'd hope for a full replacement but in this case there's really no point if it can be avoided.

On a related topic....how long does it usually take for Chrysler to respond to the dealership's warranty request? I've been reading on line where some people said it took 2-3 weeks. Other said they finally had to call Chrysler only to find out the dealership never submitted the request.

Long story short, how long should I wait before I pick up the phone? And when I do, should I call Chrysler or the dealership?

thanks

I had a crack in my new soft top rear window and took it to my dealer for a warranty claim. Had it there Saturday for pictures and got a call on Monday that they were covering under warranty. Wednesday they replaced it so for me it was fast.

Good luck

Dan

I'm never that lucky but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Not a soft top warranty claim, but we took our 2013 in for a rust claim on the hinges on a Monday and it was approved on Wednesday. Took another three days to get it fixed, but processed pretty quickly.

That's encouraging. If I don't hear from them by the end of this week, I'll give them a call on Monday. Since the soft top is still functional, I'm not in a huge rush. Just don't like things on my rig being broken.
