I just purchased a Sahara and it has the soft top on with the Hard top. People are saying that I need to remove the soft top or it will get damaged. Is this true? Or is the only reason to remove it is to gain more trunk space.
Thanks for the help.
If you needed to drive around a little while with it, it will be okay. You don't want to leave it permanently attached as it will become damaged. The hardtop does have to be removed (2 people) in order to remove the soft top, no way around it.
I would imagine so. My jeep only came with the hard top. About a two mnoths ago I came across a craigslist ad of the premium top at a price way too good to pass on. I had to meet the guy at the dealer because it was dual top and had never been removed his was a 15 that he owned for 6 months. The top looked just as good as when my wife bought her Jeep with dual top. You'll be fine, just don't rest heavy items on it. Watch some Youtube videos on how to remove the hardtop if you haven't done it before. I'ts pretty straight forward, the rear glass adds weight to the back which makes the weight at the back. Open the glass so you can get over the spare tire.
