Soft top with spiderweb shade

I did the search but couldn't find what I am looking for......I just installed the spiderweb shade on my 2012 JKU. I am seeing information online that says the soft top can be put back up but I have to release two of the spider balls (ha ha) for the front latches on the soft top. At the same time, I read where some people are able to latch the soft top without removing the two spider balls.

Does anyone have any definitive information? I think I probably could latch the soft top but am worried about ruining those two spider balls. Anyone leave all spider balls attached with soft top on?

I undo the spider balls and then latch. In wouldn't feel comfortable with latching on top of the bungee cord...

Just undo the 2 by the latches. No reason to leave them on. I need to remove mine in order to be able to close the latches on the top anyway.

I leave mine on...I just pull them off to the side before I latch the top.

Sorry to double post, I just posted this same question, along with a photo. I just installed mine yesterday and feel uncomfortable latching the soft top down on those bungees.

Undo the 2 bungees where the top latches. Why is this a big deal?

I undo the two at the latches. Just takes a couple seconds and I toss 'em in the glove box.

I undid mine. Makes it easier to reach up there to get the latches into place. No reason to leave everything attached, and it takes about 5 seconds to do both.

I unhook the 2 front spiderballs when I put the soft top back up... haven't had any issues at all.

I leave the 2 spiderballs off the latches 24/7 and haven't had any problems. Maybe over time it might sag, but everything is perfect for now. I have the JKini, don't know if it's worse for the longer ones.
