Spare tire or no spare?

How hard is it to get rid of the spare tire and brake light assembly? I like the looks of no spare but do know what all is envolved.

1. Remove spare tire
2. Cut third brake light wiring
3. Remove spare tire bracket/third brake light

Order what is called a tramp stamp from poison spyder. It is a plate that covers the mounting holes and the vent on the tailgate.

You don't even need to cut the wiring (at least not on my 13) just unhook it within the tailgate.

This is on a 11. Ours used to have two P/N'S but now it is RS6237B.

Don't forget to join Triple A now that you've gone from Fix-It-Yourself to Stand-By-Side-Of-Road-With-Hands-In-Pockets status.

Seriously, I don't know why anyone would buy a vehicle capable of going through almost anything, then cripple its ability to handle the most basic road/trail emergency.

Good point, hopefully the OP puts a spare in the "trunk".
