I promised I would get back with Honest impressions - didn't expect them to arrive today.
The speakers and the adapters (plug-n-play) Mopar part# 72-6514 no guessing involved.
To say the transformation was Amazing, Impressive, Startlingly Good would be accurate.
I installed them in the sound bar, re-tweaked my polyfill which was not that noticeable on the horribly muted stock speakers. I also re-tweaked my sub-enclosure polyfill.
Have not even done the tweeter mod (yet).
I put Pandora on and it sounded ...... good.
I then remembered my phone volume was down so I turned it up and it was like the stereo "Bit" me. The Eagles Hotel California came on and for anyone old and senile (like me) you remember how that starts out kind of slow, and it builds and Wham! the sub hit and wow.
I can not believe how the system has awakened. My stock sound bar speakers sounded worse than horrible. Muffled/mumbly a mess anyway.
It really really sounds great, thank you again to Pressurized and those who care enough to talk audio in Jeeps - Yes that can be a big part of the Jeep Fun Experience.
I didn't even have my roof panels in when I listened.
The detail and depth was never there before like it is now, not even close comparison.

Running it off the stock HU (Alpine Premium 130 which has an amplifier)
The difference in the sound is what it is - noticeably "better" more clear, accurate, detailed, and full.
Whether that is agreeable to the person hearing it is subjective, the fact that the sound changed in the ways I described is not IMO.

You gotta do the tweeter mod.... think its good now, wait until you hear the tweeters come to life.

.
I am indeed looking forward to that. Wish the two (little) things were here. Didn't expect the larger box so quick, and what should be an envelope isn't due in until like next week. Oh well.
My hope is that everyone who desires a bit more out of there JK stereo gets to where they want to be - audio can be a bugger.

Im glad we are getting more objective opinions from true audiophiles like you and Pressurized..

Every time I see "Kicker" or "KAPPA" speakers are better.. or "these upgraded speakers sound like crap" thread, it makes me second guess the Infinity Reference 6032s.

I think it's time to place my order...

Pressurized is very knowledgeable indeed and his knowledge is only surpassed by his helpfulness, I will help any way I can :) If you would like I can forward links that were shared with me. I will add that not only was I impressed with the sound of these speakers but they are very well built and packaged.

Howdy Folks!!...
I noticed that "Crutchfield" discontinued the 6032si's and now suggests you use the 6502ix's. I guess the up side is that 6302's elsewhere now are just over 50 piasters...

Yes, I believe I paid around $53 for a pair. In the audio realm that is pretty reasonable (understatement).

It says true 4 ohm technology....

Then says:

3 ohms impedance works with all amps rated for 4-ohm operation
Sensitivity: 93dB
Whats up?

Thanks for the review, I have been seriously considering upgrading the speakers. The current system is better than nothing, but about the same as having an old boom box in the vehicle.

Are the Infinity 6032si a plug-n-play fit in the sound bar? On Amazon they show that it does not fit a 2013 JK.

This thread pushed me over the edge, ordered the 4 speakers off amazon along with the tweeters. Should have them installed this weekend.

#16 ·
You can use these caps and replace the stocks caps, or you can use 4.7uF caps and solder them in parallel with the stocks caps to get the same result. I had to do the later because my local Radio Shack only had the 4.7s.

Yes, I will forward the links and Thank You to Pressurized for facilitating-helping-supporting and guiding - Much appreciation!
Well, God and the Mailman are funny guys.... expected the speakers end of the week and they arrived last night - installed and what comes on Pandora but the Eagles Hotel California.
Blown away.
Didn't expect the capacitors until next week and they are here when I get home - installed and what comes on Pandora but Pink Floyd Wish you were here - Holy Crap.
My son and I sat there and listened with our eyes closed. Didn't want to get out of my Jeep but I wanted to report to you guys.
Wow. and just as I expected last night when I observed to my Son that the system sounded amazing but became slightly unbalanced by the now very "present" Sound Bar speakers now taking over the soundstage due to the choked out fronts. The tweeter Mod (Pressurized) simply transformed the front and rebalanced the soundstage ALL drivers to include the sub are balanced and in harmony with each other presenting a deep wide and quite realistic soundstage with open and accurate imaging. There is placement and depth and instruments have "shape" drums sound like empty cavities with tightly stretched skin being kicked by a hammer. There was detail way back in the distance on wish you were here that pulled you to where it was - totally involving listening experience.
Many thanks to Pressurized and those of you who care about the music thus making our chariots of fun just that much more enjoyable to ride in and spend time with.
Links to what you need for Mods referenced Thanks to our Friend Pressurized...

The wiring adapters:

http://www.amazon.com/Metra-72-6514-.../dp/B0007WTEVM

The speakers:

http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Refer...eywords=6032si

That should do it for the sound bar. You will still need to get the 6.8uF non polar capacitors for the tweeter mod. Here's what I found on Amazon for those:

http://www.amazon.com/6-8uF-Electrol...ized+capacitor

If you are comfortable soldering, the instructions in the Stock Tweeter Mod thread should carry you through it.

Let me know if you anything further and good luck!

As I have alluded to, there is a huge subjective componant to audio and its "What do you like" IF you said, my current setup is Too bright, aggressive, forward "In your face" then I'd say maybe you need a change but if you are liking your current sound - stay with it. The Audio addiction dwarfs the Jeep counterpart in chasing the elusive next step. You could buy a Jeep Dealership with what you can spend chasing sound. STOP when it makes you smile.

How are these speakers going to sound with the standard audio and 430N?
I am not an expert on our hardware, IF there is an Amp (outboard) this will be a huge improvement, IF it is sucking for power - Not.

Thanks for your help RubiconSS and Pressurized for some great help. I can't wait to get these installed this weekend.
Pressurized is a WF asset. If I can be of any help in some small way - I will do my best to assist. I'll be around this weekend if you get stuck.

IF I added an amp I would put it under my seat or in the little cubby under my rear floor. Both place would offer some weather protection and be reasonably out of the field of view of prying eyes. I imagine if it was one of the more diminutive amps available these days, it would fit up behind the dash as well.

#32 ·
Behind the dash would be fantastic...much easier for running wires and I've got a bunch of crap in the rear cubby already. I haven't bought an amp in probably a decade so maybe there are some small-enough options out there.

I also haven't removed the dash yet, so I'm not sure how much room I've got to work with.

Depends on how much oomph you are looking for. I was going to throw one of these in my boat before the wife shot it down and said that it doesn't need any more... sigh.

NVX MVPA4 Micro-V 400W RMS 4-Channel Car Amp with Small Footprint

It's rated at 100w/ch in to 2 ohms and tested at more than 140! But its got a TINY footprint. You could hide that sucker just about anywhere...

There are times when I feel stupid and times when I wonder where my brain went. I ordered these speakers and the adapter wires last week. Last Saturday I installed the speakers but did not use the connectors. Today I checked to make sure I got the polarity right but I cannot believe I forgot about the nice connectors. What a dope. I can tell you the my JKURX with the 730N sounds MUCH better now with the 6032si speakers in the front and in the sound bar. I also did the Infinity tweeter upgrade. Sound is great now.

I buy stuff and then forget I have it all the time. Get mad when I go buy it again and then when I go to put it away in a place that seems logical....
WaLa! there's one already there. (HaRumph)

I haven't warmed up to the idea of tearing the dash apart for fronts, liking the sound now for now.

I'm still holding off on upgrading my 2014's "premium" Alpine stereo with 730n any further.... I really disliked the muffled, "bleah" sound quality it had off the dealer lot. Did Pressurized's tweeter mods to the factory tweeters (added Radio Shacks' 4.7uf capacitors to the existing ones) and that really does make them come alive. But as I mentioned in the original thread on the topic? It also unbalances the sound, in my opinion. Once you have those working like they're supposed to with the mod, you realize that they're a little bit "harsh" and "raspy" sounding. I mean sure, it beats not having them in the mix almost at all -- but certain frequencies will come at you a little too loud in the mix.

I put Alpine S series speakers in the sound-bar too, but again, found that solution lacking because they're 4 ohm speakers and they're just not doing much of anything besides the tweeters on them firing. (Not enough power from the factory amp for them.)

BUT -- when I started looking at just adding a better amp, I discovered that opens up a BIG can of worms. The core problem here is the Alpine factory amp in our Jeeps contains a digital EQ. (It's a custom, kind of "butchered" version of Alpine's Euphony sound processing system.) It's designed to ONLY send certain ranges of sound to either the front or rear of the Jeep, and probably only sends "lows" to the sub too. Additionally, it's designed to cut out really low or high frequencies completely (apparently in an effort to make it harder to blow factory speakers under warranty).

Well -- when you remove this amp and use your replacement, you have problems because the factory head-unit relies on the factory amp to do some of its basic functions. (When you adjust the volume up or down, for example? Your head unit doesn't actually do anything except send CANBUS commands telling the amp to play softer or louder!)

There's a PAC unit available that lets you tap audio off the factory head unit while intercepting those CANBUS commands and acting on them, so you can lose the factory amp. But that's more stuff you need to buy and wire in the system -- making for a more complicated install. And worse yet? Reviews of that adapter aren't that great. Heard a lot of people had problems with it creating buzzing noises through the speakers and stuff.

So now I just want to hear someone who replaced all factory speakers with good 2 ohm upgraded ones, to see how worthwhile that seems to be vs. touching the amp and getting in deep.

I have a 2014 JKU with the premium 7 Alpine speaker alpine system and last night I began my install. First off the adapters mentioned in the first post do not work with the 2014 year model, I just cut the QDs off and soldered/shrink wrapped the connections. I only got the sound bar and tweeters replaced last night, I plan on doing the front dash speakers this weekend.

So far my impressions are good, I'm not audiophile so I had no idea what to expect. I believe the tweeters brought the most to the table, big improvement. I can actually hear the sound bar now and everything is nice a clear. It’s certainly an improvement, but I didn't feel the Alpine speakers were bad to begin with. I'm withholding final judgment until I get the front speakers replaced and polyfil is added. I do think the lack of base produced by the factory sub seems even more apparent now that I can turn everything else up without it getting distorted/muddy. I may try my hand at fiberglassing an enclosure that fits under the passenger seat.

I actually have experienced quite a "cumulative" effect that if I had the time I would espouse my thoughts and reasoning on the "why" but suffice it to say - I trust my ears over my ability to explain the why in terms that won't spark an audio uprising.
The "effect" I have experienced (and my son) after replacing the sound bar speakers, modding the tweeters and tweaking my polyfill is.... The system that used to be on "Max" quite often is now LOUD at 20-22 on my readout. The Bass which used to be simply M U D is much tighter and more authoritative. The soundstage and imaging can actually be referred to as such because now there is one.
The system (soundstage)is "Correct" and balanced in its presentation. I say correct because IMO music reproduction should emulate a live presentation and unless you got really bad seats the performer(s) should be in front of your position yet the sound somewhat enveloping
I listen to my music now instead of just talk radio - that is a nice "bene" right there (I think my blood pressure has decreased as a result)

If I'm not 100% happy after installing the front speakers, I think I'm also going to flip the little +3db switch to +0db on the tweeters in the soundbar. I think this may help balance the sound coming from behind me as they are so close to my head they can quickly become all I hear.
