I have Polks (651 and 6501). They made a HUGE difference over stock.

I have the Alpine Type R SPR-60C components in the dash and sound bar. They are like night and day compared to the factory setup.

I have the polk db6500s in the front and db651s in the soundbar. As others have said the difference is night and day, even without an amp.

I also have the Polk speakers, DXi650 in the sound bar and DXi6501 up front.
I also installed a Polk PA660 amp and Kicker Hideaway sub.
Best sound system I have ever had in any vehicle and at 55 years old I have had my share of them.

I have the 130 base radio and just replaced the stock speakers with the 77kicker10's. I must say that It's a big difference. No need for amp or HU change IMO.

The stock speakers truly are awful. I went with full JL Audio system but def not cheap. I'd suggest Alpine with type X subwoofers so you can slap that dubstep.
