Hi all. Just got off the pone with the owner of the Spidershades.com

Told me the difference between the two are that one the trailmesh is a piece that is not stretchable and is one fit. Ultramesh has a little pull to it for more of a custom feel with either custom role cages or less gaps.
I just ordered my ultramesh.
Both tops have the same UV protection

Also, if you like them on FB they will send you a discount code for a 10% discount. If they don't give the code right away send me a PM and ill get the code to you!
Was a hot day in DC today, cant wait for this.

Am I losing it? I swore someone posted in this thread that "liking" them on Facebook would get you a 10% discount but now I don't see that and finding/liking them hasn't turned up any discount code yet.

Not sure about the 10% off but Jason at Krawl (KrawlOff-Road.com is his user name here) sells them, shoot him a PM, I'm sure he can get you the best price around.

I will sing the same praise for the Ultra mesh Spiderwebshade...I have had it for a week and absolutely love it, it will never come off the Jeep. I saw a cheaper version, however, i know someone the had some trouble with it. Also they give a Military discount!

Ok...so I supposed I need to order an "UltraMesh" to go with my 2012 JKU. No problem.

The only "problem" I have run into is the damn directions:

SpiderWeb JKini Installation Instructions | SpiderWebShade.com

I didn't see any product in that video. Yes, it is only about 3 mins long, however, that video is EXTREMELY DISTRACTING and I had to watch it about 6 times just so I could see how the mesh was attached!!

My question is, does the woman in the video actually come out and help me install this shade? What if I get stuck? What if I don't know how to get the spider balls to work properly? What if one of the spider balls snaps off and hits me in the eye??

I REALLY think that this custom mod should be installed by that MODel in the video. That way, I can be ASSURED the product will work as advertised!!!

Couldnt agree more...I actually didnt notice she was installing a spiderwebshade until the 4th time watching.

A buddy of mine just bought one for his TJ and loves it. Blocks the heat from the sun real well, but lets the light through. Fits perfectly under his soft top.

I just ordered 2 for ours last night actually. Being able to throw the top up over it in event of a freak storm sold it for me. A bikini top was gonna be more hassle and I want the open air feel

Ordered an Ultramesh for my JKU last night as well Also found a discount code so $83 shipped. Since I have a hardtop I see myself having to buy a trail cover for the "oh @#$%" random thunderstorm that might blow through. July/Aug will be fine but it's the end of June I have to watch for lol. Oh and gotta go find a good tonneau cover now too.

There is a step by step installation on their website, read it through one or two times to familiarize yourself with it and then do the install. At first it's somewhat confusing, but the pics along with the written directions really helped me. Also there is no "right" way to install it. "The following instructions will assist you in installing the Shade on any 4-door JK Wrangler. If you discover an easier method please feel free to let us know, as we enjoy seeing the different configurations our customers have come up with." That is taken directly from their website written in one of the directions. That being said I've seen countless people who have installed it a different way than suggested. No matter how you install it, if it is pulled tight over the top, is secured by the spider balls, and isn't moving around, then it will do its job. It'd be hard to not understand how to get the spider balls to work properly as they're basically just a bungie cord with a ball on the end. The balls can fall off the bungie cord, but will not sling up with enough power to do any real damage, maybe like a poke in the eye, but nothing to worry about. Plus if you have the ball in your hand, or the ball is on the underside of the shade than if it breaks it either goes downwards into your Jeep or goes nowhere cause your holding it.

Heres a link to their written directions mentioned above - SW1 JK-4D Installation Instructions | SpiderWebShade.com
Yes they're not the greatest and most informational directions but they get the job done and since they're is no right or wrong way, just go at it. If you don't like how you put it up, take it down and try a different way.

In the end you're getting a great product and it is one of the best things you can do for your Jeep in the hot summer months and you never have to take it off. It's a win/win. Hope some of this helps someone out there.

Looks great! Mine should arrive sometime today (got the ultra, though) ... top is already down and waiting not-so-patiently for it.

Took mine off already but since I can take it on/off in a couple minutes by myself I'm saving it for when I need it and it stored nicely in a nylon backpack. It just isn't that same to me as not having a top on at all.

Wow fast processing and shipping. I ordered Wednesday afternoon (PST) and they shipped it Thursday from the east coast. It was in my mailbox on Saturday! I also got my hardtop storage dolly built today as well. Now I just need to wait till after the forecast rain storm for Mon/Tues. blows through and hopefully pull the hard top for the summer and my spiderweb shade will be on

I can see that. The Arizona sun makes it a pretty nice thing to have pretty much all summer here though. I'm a red head with fair skin and I already look like a little indian this summer. Heck I got a sunburn yesterday just from washing my Gecko and putting the Spidey shade on. I needed it. lol

Guess I'm lucky being Italian and already dark the sun is my friend As soon as it hits in the middle 90's again it will be back up. Plus one of the main reasons for getting it was the spider shield when on the trails, my daughters and I might be tom-boys but we still don't like the spiders
