Holy crap. This thing makes a huge difference. The dash read 97-101 degrees the whole ride home. The only thing on the jeep was the doors and the shade top. I was fine the whole way home, even at stop lights. This probably has to be the best thing I've bought in a while.
Huge fan here. My only gripe is I wasn't sure how much I would like it so I got black. After seeing others that are colored, I kinda regret not getting a color. Easily fixed though, although now I barely notice it.
I've had both a black and red one on my red JKURs... doesn't matter which color you choose, they work great if you are looking for some reduction in the amount of overhead sunlight.
If you are worried about rain, then use something else or put your top back on.
As for any fitment issues, go purchase a tarp repair kit or grommet kit at your local <favorite store> and add a few more grommets where needed to tighten things up.
I wanted a lighter color than my black interior but white was out so I got grey and it looks great and really blocks the heat. I am very surprised at how well it rides even at freeway speeds.
Love mine! Been down the shore all week and it's great getting in the Jeep after all day on the beach. It's amazing how much cooler it feels with it on.
Even back home on 90+ days with the shade in and doors off I don't even miss the A/c
I've had mine for a few weeks now. Sadly it's still in the box. The weather has not been cooperative here at all. This weekend looks like some sun will shine. Either way the spider shade is going on, the jeep just may sit in the garage naked.
Glad to hear so many positives about this product!
I never take mine off, soft top slides right over it. So in the rain or in the cold with the top on I still have a blue ceiling. I only remove the two cords where the latches are.
I will have to wait a while before I can try mine out. It seems the one I received is about a foot short from reaching the roll bar. Calling Monday and hoping to get it straightened out.
In the mean time....we are NAKED!
On a bright note, I'm glad it doesn't fit. I think I want a colored one now. An accent piece to stand out from all the black. I was thinking blue to go with my future inside led lights.
Had to put the top up today because they were calling for it to rain. So, of course, we went to the beach anyway... I found out with the top up and the spiderweb shade on it makes a great place to put boogie boards to save room in the back.
I love mine, I get more compliments and questions on that than anything else! And for as little as it rains around here, I just have to laugh when it starts and I am caught with no top on.
I hated mine at first and thought I wasted $50. I felt claustrophobic because it sits between the roll cage a little lower than my soft top did. The last week it has been around 95 degrees. I have a new found appreciation for it and even like it now. On the days it is not so hot and at night I just roll it back and bungee it over the sound bar. Then I can still have the open air feel without completely removing it.
Just ordered mine in red. Can't wait to put it on and try it out. With all the great reviews I am sure it will be great.
