sPOD - Dual light Switch or not?

Do you all think it is worth the extra money to get the sPOD with the dual light switch feature or just get the standard version?

Personally, I got the standard switches and then bought new ones from OUTTRAW. You can buy them directly from SPOD and just buy new covers. If your question is simply dual light or single light...dual no question.

Thanks. Yea, I was simply asking about the dual light option on the sPOD.

Anybody else have an opinion on this?

If you have the singles, and it's dark out, you won't see which switch is which (other than memorizing them.) Not cool IMHO.

Yes. Worth it. Just last night I couldn't find my switch. Cursing Spod for releasing the dual after I bought mine. Don't want to spend more money on different switches.

Definately. I'm in the same boat as Jen. Bought my Spod and found out literally a few days later about the lighted versions. Wasn't too happy, but it is what it is.

I usually select a switch by feel. I know what each does and what spot they are in. The new sPod feature is pretty nice for those who feel or think it will make things easier for them. However. For me it would be a waist of money.

I bought my sPOD before they offered dual lights straight from the factory. I wired up some dual light switches myself (not too hard) and I love being able to see them at night. I would definitely get the dual-light option if I were you.

I'm with you on this. As a matter of fact I dim everything inside including shutting off the screen to the radio/nav at night. Better night vision that way.

The new sPod's w/ dual light also do not tap into the CANBUS. I emailed sPod to ask if it was simply the extra light that was different and this is what i got back - sucks b/c I got this email ONE DAY after my sPod shipped. May try to swap it for the new one but am afraid it may be too late.

The difference is the second light on the bottom of the switch and a small push button which turns the bottom row of lights on and off. Our new harness that is used with the double light switches takes power directly from the battery and does NOT tap into the vehicle canbus system.

Me too. I put electrical tape over all but a corner of my switches because having a bright glow right above the mirror is annoying.

Mine don't put out any meaningful light, just enough to read the letters but not enough to light anything up.

Cinde-
Any thoughts on maybe selling a conversion kit? Ie: the pushbutton switch and the wiring? Could be wrong but it looks like the old version (like I have) has space for the switch on the left. It'd be nice to add it. And sell the lit switches (toggle type) separately? I know I can find those elsewhere- rather buy it all at one place.
